Other specialities from the region include Grie Soß, a green sauce with seven herbs and eggs, which is eaten with jacket potatoes, and Rippche, or ribs with cabbage. During preparation, the pork is cooked until tender and then served with sauerkraut and potatoes. Those with a sweet tooth cannot avoid the Frankfurter Kranz. This is a ring-shaped buttercream cake made with brittle and cherries, among other things.
