We were already at the resort in 2023, and we really liked it back then. The bigger our disappointment this year: the place is completely neglected (weeds and high grass on the plots), the sanitary buildings are only cleaned sporadically (thus they are even dirtier), and the prices for additional costs (supermarket, restaurants) have skyrocketed. But the worst were the countless dogs and their owners, who let their dogs roam around the sandy beach despite the ban and let them do their business (even where toddlers will play the next day) and in some cases take them into the sea (very popular: taking dogs on the SUP board)! There is far too little staff to monitor and address these misdeeds - and regarding the corresponding notifications to the reception or the Guest Relations Manager: nothing happens!

Zaton Holiday Resort is certainly a good camping site for families with children. However, as a couple without children, we would not choose this spot again. Those looking for peace and relaxation are out of place here. What particularly bothered us: • Dogs: It would make sense to set up a separate area for dog owners. The constant barking from neighboring plots was very disturbing. • Beach: The sandy beach does not, in our opinion, fit Croatia. We missed the typical clear, turquoise water. • Supermarket: A real negative highlight – shelves were often empty, the selection was very limited. We have not experienced anything like this at any other camping site. We would like to highlight positively: • Cleanliness: In the off-season, the sanitary facilities were very clean and well maintained. Suitable for families with children, but for couples or peace-seekers, rather not.

SCAM ! I am extremely disappointed with Zaton Holiday Resort. Long wait time at the reception. We had no reservation and only needed a pitch for a few days. Even though I expressly indicated at the reception that I did not know how long I would stay, I had to pay in advance for the maximum days I might stay. When I asked what would happen if we left early, the lady simply said that I should just come back to the reception. I was already very annoyed, and then paid for 5 days (579.50€) in advance. I thought that if I left early, I would get my money back accordingly. Overall, we did not like the campsite - very loud day and night, very expensive, and dirty toilet facilities.. When we left after 2 days, we got nothing back !!!

For us, an absolute "No Go" spot. Already upon arrival and check-in. Loud screaming from many children and adults. Crowds of holidaymakers everywhere. But well, after driving 1100 km, you overlook a lot initially. The beach is narrow, but okay otherwise. When we went to shower after 2 hours of arrival. No Go!! Dirty, smelly, and again the loud screaming. Phew, after a brief discussion with the staff at check-in, we got our money back and left the same day. To be exact, after about 3 hours. The pitches for caravans are not plots but you are like sardines next to each other. For some this may be really nice, but for us, the campsite feels like a processed amusement park. The site itself is nicely laid out, and you have everything you need. You just have to cope with the crowds of people and the noise.

My family and I have been enthusiastic Croatia vacationers for many years and have been to several campsites with mostly good experiences. We visited Zaton now, as it seemed very suitable for families and had a high star rating. However, we were sadly proven wrong. We took a mobile home that made a good and well-maintained impression. After the first day in the evening, we had to experience the first surprise in the shower: the water in the mobile home remained ice cold, and the gas stove was also off. After a call to the central office, finally after an hour, an employee arrived to change the gas bottle to get everything working. A children's bed was defective. Great for the first day in the freshly handed over home... Sports facilities were partly neglected. The sandy beach here is very small for the mass of people and not nice. The reception showed little understanding for the comments.

We booked a large pitch for an 8m caravan. According to the website, the pitches are supposed to be between 80 and 100 m2. We were assigned pitch 185, which after consultation is supposed to be 72m2, presumably including the hedge! The adjacent pitch has 140 m2 for the same price. You apparently need luck when being assigned. But according to the reception, there are also smaller pitches than 72m2. We are supposed to park the car in the parking lot. About 800m. Sanitary facilities are dirty and are not cleaned continuously as in other 5-star campsites. Soap dispensers have been defective for quite some time. No separate area for dogs. Despite being in the best and most expensive pitch category, the sea is about 400m away. Practically no lounging options at the beach and the pool, as sunbeds must be paid for the entire day at a high price.

The campsite is a complete disaster. After booking and phone inquiry for 11m motorhome and with a person with mobility restrictions in February, everything was supposed to work out. When we arrived on 18.08.25, there was supposedly a spot by the only washroom without a disabled bathroom. The place smells of sewage all day for €100 a day. On the beach, 2 sunbeds cost €19/day. The price level of the restaurants is far too high for the quality. It was once a good place, not anymore. No recommendation, very very poor. At CheckInn you wait 30 minutes despite booking. You are standing close to each other. The new pool is already dirty and is not being cleaned properly. The review on PinCamp has probably been paid.

We had a lovely holiday but would not return to the Zaton Holiday Resort. We enjoyed the options to shop and dine outside the site, as well as the cleanliness of the area. Negative aspects for us included: - no rules for eScooters. They were allowed to ride everywhere, even until the sea edge, regardless of speed. - no regulations for dogs (owners). Dogs are allowed in every bungalow, in every plot. - Friendliness and service: All staff on site convey a feeling of interfering at any moment. The towel exchange did not work even once. The 'animators' were, especially for children and adolescents, not present. Our bungalow was not really clean. Finally, the price level both on site and in the country is disproportionate.

With its private beach and beautiful pool area, the Zaton Holiday Resort on Croatia's Adriatic coast is a real family paradise for water lovers. The campsite in northern Dalmatia is one of the few campsites in Croatia with a sandy beach. This makes the campsite ideal for holidaymakers who want to spend a relaxing beach holiday in Dalmatia. However, the many leisure and sports facilities also make the campsite a popular choice for active holidaymakers and those looking to relax and socialise.
The Zaton Holiday Resort campsite is located near the well-known holiday resort of Zadar and offers around 1,100 well-equipped pitches in a park-like holiday complex by the sea. The pitches for caravans, tents and motorhomes measure between 80m² and 120m² and offer fresh water and waste water connections as well as electricity. Perfectly situated in the shade of the pine trees, guests can look forward to plenty of space and privacy. Airport transfers from Zadar can be arranged on request. In addition to pitches, the family-friendly resort also offers rental accommodation and holiday flats. The accommodation units measure up to 60m² and can accommodate up to six guests. The accommodation is equipped with a kitchenette, a double bedroom, a sofa bed and air conditioning and leaves nothing to be desired. There are also over 300 superbly equipped and modern mobile homes in the camping village. The premium class accommodation units are suitable for up to seven people. Nothing stands in the way of a luxurious camping holiday with the whole family. There are also several modern sanitary facilities throughout the campsite, as well as barbecue and dishwashing facilities. Campers can buy everyday necessities, camping accessories and food in the large shopping street.
One of the highlights of the Zaton Holiday Resort is the fantastic private beach, which stretches over 1.5 kilometres and slopes gently into the water of the beautiful bay. Unlike most beaches in Croatia, there is a section of sand here as well as a pebble beach. This makes it an ideal and safe swimming paradise for children. The entire beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, which stands for particularly good water quality. Guests can also relax in the water away from the sandy bay on the beach. The huge pool area offers several swimming pools for adults, sports swimmers and a children's pool. There are also three smaller pools with hydromassages for non-swimmers, a water slide and a large sun deck. The sports and leisure facilities on the campsite are even more extensive. Beach volleyball courts and sports fields for team sports such as football, volleyball and basketball make sports enthusiasts' hearts beat faster, while the mini golf course and pedal boating are very popular with families. There are also several sports schools where holidaymakers can learn horse riding, diving or tennis. Snorkelling courses and surfing lessons are also offered. There is an entertainment programme for children in summer with a mini disco, kids' club and mini driving school. In the evenings, live music, dance evenings, karaoke and show programmes ensure a good mood. Those who like to dance and need a bit of practice can learn their first steps at the dance school.
Conveniently, there is a bike hire service at the campsite where children and adults can find the right bike for them. Afterwards, nothing stands in the way of a tour of the charming surrounding area, for example to the harbour town of Zadar. This popular holiday resort on the Adriatic is just 15 kilometres from the Zaton Holiday Resort and is particularly notable for its cultural and historical heritage and beautiful old town. The famous Plitvice Lakes National Park is also within easy reach. The unique landscape of 16 lakes connected by cascades is one of Croatia's most impressive natural spectacles and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
New from June 2025: A brand new, large pool complex covering 2,500 square meters with a large children's pool, various attractions and water slides, as well as a bar and restaurant.
