Travelling to Veneto from the neighbouring countries of Slovenia, Austria and Germany is uncomplicated. The car journey also promises picturesque views of the surrounding countryside and reveals the natural beauty of Italy as soon as you arrive.
The distance between Munich and Venice is around 450 kilometres and can be covered in one day. The route usually takes you via the A22 Brenner motorway and then towards Italy. The dense European motorway network is well developed and makes the journey easier.
From Munich, the quickest route leads past Rosenheim and through the Austrian state of Innsbruck. Then follow the A22 motorway across the border to Italy. From the Italian border, it doesn't take long to reach the destination of Veneto.
In the peak season, i.e. in the summer months of July and August, there may be increased traffic volumes or longer traffic jams when travelling to northern Italy. Venice itself is car-free. Water buses (vaporetti) are used to get around the lagoon and the city.

The temperatures are usually around 30°C and are therefore ideal for a beach holiday with your family or partner. The water temperatures are also perfect for splashing around in the cool water.

The difference between summer and winter is relatively large in Veneto and in Italy in general. In winter, temperatures are around 5 to 7°C and frost is not uncommon.
