The extremely diverse Lower Lusatia region offers campers countless leisure activities, including boating, hiking and cycling. As the region is considered one of the sunniest and warmest regions in Germany, camping in Lower Lusatia is also ideal for sun worshippers and holidaymakers who want to spend a quiet, relaxing holiday. Both couples and families with children can enjoy a wonderful holiday here.
The extensive Niederlausitz region is located in the south of the German federal state of Brandenburg. It is geographically bounded by the rivers Spree, Neisse, Schwarze Elster and Dahme. Particularly well-known and attractive landscapes in the region include the deep green Schlaubetal Nature Park in the north, the Lower Lusatian Heath Landscape in the south-west and the Lusatian Border Wall characterised by rolling hills. At the heart of the region is also the Spreewald, a magical place that promises plenty of peace and greenery. In the south of Niederlausitz, nature lovers and bathing holidaymakers will find Germany's largest artificial lake landscape, the Lusatian Lake District. Most of the campsites in Lower Lusatia are located by the water, while others are idyllically nestled in the countryside - a paradise for those seeking relaxation.
The perfect time to go camping in Niederlausitz is from April to September. Caravan and motorhome travellers who would like to lie on the shore of a lake with family or friends and enjoy the sun are best off travelling in the months of June, July and August. At this time, guests can expect hot temperatures of around 27 degrees Celsius, while the lakes cool down to around 19 degrees Celsius. If you are planning an active holiday and want to take advantage of the numerous hiking and cycling routes in the area, it is best to travel in spring or autumn to explore the region in mild temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius.
