Camping in the Uckermark

Just over an hour's drive from Berlin, the Uckermark opens up unique, protected natural landscapes. When camping in the Uckermark, nature lovers, water sports enthusiasts and family holidaymakers can choose from over 500 lakes. There are also numerous dog bathing areas for holidaymakers travelling with their four-legged friends. Active holidaymakers can look forward to the well-developed network of hiking and cycling trails or canals for canoeing.

Special features of camping in the Uckermark

It is certainly not far from the campsites in the Uckermark to one of the many lakes. There are even private beaches at campsites in the Uckermark, such as at Wurlsee or Wolletzsee. In addition to a family-friendly, gently sloping shore, Lake Dreetzsee also has a dog beach. With the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Grumsin Beech Forest, the Lower Oder Valley National Park and the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park, the region on the border with Poland offers breathtaking landscapes.

Camping in the Uckermark on the Oder river is also a perfect starting point for active holidays. Located directly on the Oder-Neisse cycle path, you can explore the region by bike from here. There are also 1,000 kilometres of well-signposted hiking trails.

Weather

From May to October, the weather in the Uckermark is ideal for a varied active holiday. In September and October, hikers and cyclists particularly enjoy camping in the Uckermark, as the temperatures of 10 to 20 degrees Celsius are ideal for outdoor activities.

Summer is the best time for bathers and water sports enthusiasts. In July and August, the lakes warm up to over 20 degrees Celsius. The average maximum air temperature also peaks at around 24 degrees Celsius during these months. However, most rainfall can be expected in the Uckermark during the warm season. You can arm yourself against the occasional showers with appropriate rainwear.
