The campsites on Austria's southernmost bathing lake are ideal for families who prefer to spend the whole day in the warm water. Fantastic excursion destinations such as the Taborhöhe forest rope park, the Sandbank lido or the Natur-Aktiv-Park are just as popular with holidaymakers as the wonderful hikes, for example the panoramic 4-summit tour. Water sports enthusiasts can go motor boating or sailing on the popular recreational lake. Dog owners are drawn to the nearby streams with dog beaches, where their four-legged friends can splash around to their heart's content.

Special features of camping on Lake Faak

The campsites on Lake Faak are located in the immediate vicinity of the idyllic village of Neuegg at the foot of the Wauberberg in Carinthia. Situated directly on the shores of the picturesque lake, the campsites are popular with families with children and couples. The shimmering lake with the Faaker See island stretches out in front of the well-kept lidos. Active holidaymakers can explore the 10 km circular lake trail that leads past the campsites.

The wide range of offers includes Strandcamping Anderwald, Erlebnis- und Familiencamping Poglitsch, Camping Arneitz and Strandcamping Gruber. They are popular destinations for motorhomes and caravans with modern sanitary facilities. Mobile homes are wonderful alternatives for fans of camping in permanent accommodation.

The campsites in Faak am See south of the lake are also perfect starting points for extended hikes. There are also numerous shopping facilities in the idyllic village. Those seeking relaxation also like to book the campsites a little away from Lake Faak, some of which are located in the middle of the forest.

Campsites on Lake Faak

The beautiful lake in Austria is a perfect holiday destination for campers thanks to its location and beautiful pitches. The choice of campsites is varied and should appeal to most guests.

Anderwald beach campsite

Strandcamping Anderwald offers its visitors a marvellous view of the lake and the surrounding mountains such as the Karawanken. The pebble beach with sunbathing lawn is particularly popular with guests. Children can have fun in the children's playground or the indoor playground. The well-kept sanitary facilities with wash cubicles are wheelchair-accessible and offer plenty of space. A special feature at Strandcamping Anderwald is certainly the triathlon programme led by a former professional.

Family and adventure camping Poglitsch

Family camping is particularly important at Erlebniscamping Poglitsch. There is a swimming pond with a pebble beach, sunbathing area and play area right next to the campsite as well as the nearby lakeshore. Both bodies of water are connected by a river and can be explored by rowing boat. The combination of children's playground, indoor playground and entertainment programme offers the best entertainment for younger guests. The pitches on the level meadow in the shade of the deciduous trees offer plenty of privacy. For campers without their own vehicle, mobile homes are also available for booking.

Camping Arneitz

Camping Arneitz on the eastern shore with its own bathing beach and sunbathing lawn is very close to nature with deciduous and coniferous forests. Guests can spend wonderful days on holiday in the shade of the trees. The play and adventure park for children with trampoline, canoe river and bumper cars as well as sports fields ensures that the youngsters never get bored. Families can make the most of their leisure time together by hiring a (motor)boat. Camping Arneitz is rated very highly thanks to its comprehensive facilities and good service.

Strandcamping Gruber

Strandcamping Gruber on the eastern shore is located on a beautifully landscaped site divided by a stream. The pitches for caravans and motorhomes are shaded by deciduous and coniferous trees. A small bathing beach with a 6,000 m² sunbathing lawn and bathing platform is ideal for a dip in the cool water on warm days. Guided hikes and the hire of electric cars are part of the special service offered by Strandcamping Gruber.

Weather

Due to its favourable location on the southern side of the Alps, the sun shines more often than average when camping on Lake Faak. Perfect conditions for an unforgettable beach holiday on Carinthia's fifth largest lake prevail from June to August. At the height of summer, the lake warms up to 27 degrees Celsius with drinking water quality and eight hours of sunshine per day can be expected.

In April and May as well as in September and October, the temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees Celsius are pleasant for hiking and cycling. In spring and autumn, it also rains relatively rarely in southern Carinthia, so nothing stands in the way of a varied hiking and relaxation holiday.
