We have already been there twice in the summer and have always felt very comfortable. The nice friendly lady at the reception, the great location by the lake, the wonderful café, the relaxed renting of canoes, ideal for 1-2 nights spontaneously while traveling. We would happily come back.

All-around campground, direct swimming opportunity, free canoes, large playground

We are surprised: there are supposedly total prices, no hidden costs via electricity bill, parking lot. The sites for (mobile) homes cost as much as the tent sites with cars. We come in a group of four with a car and a really large tent, plus a supplement tent for 85,-€ /night, including use of electricity, canoe, beach access (20-minute walk away), shower (without coins!; ladies' house newly renovated), baby bathtubs (without coins!), table football, ping-pong tables, children's playroom (ball pit and more), our cooling batteries can be frozen free of charge: we are thrilled! Those who have their bicycles here are of course faster to the big lake, whose bike path network connects everything wonderfully. The canoes are ready at the MiniSee and are only provided for campers: five are available, and so far we have never had to wait, there was always one ready to go into the winding reed route, through the abundance of dragonflies and against the perceptible current, to the turquoise Faaker See. Paddles alongside two mini life vests were also ready. The tents are located between seasonal campers and mobile homes, between long-term and short-term guests, between old and young, well distributed internationally. Of course, this follows a logic! For tent owners, for example, separate rows are planned. What stands out here again: the rules are not imposed excessively, the Mediterranean holiday flair arises to some extent from the lived serenity. This probably means for the owners that in the autumn they will have to spend more time leveling the sites? In any case, the sites are also perfectly maintained now in August, grass has been reseeded and the wet corners have been filled with fine gravel and bark mulch (there had been a lot of rain before us), clearly there are still visible tracks. Shade lovers come like us under maple and birch trees (certainly more), sun lovers in the sunny corners. The huge playground is worth mentioning, where the children immediately ran: frisbee, football, Viking chess - everything is possible at the same time. Personally, I like the location in the middle of the village: the church rings one minute before 7, the roosters crow, goldfinches tweet and the train traffic passes by sometimes during the day nearby. The course of the big lake runs through the camping area and causes, on the one hand, the already mentioned reed area with its winding river BUT also a small 'pond' for swimming. Pond does not quite fit, it's much too clear, too deep and generally well maintained. I admit that I initially thought of a puddle. But it's wonderful! Small fish zip by, dragonflies in at least five different species also, the current is perceptible and leads to a stream with wonderful rustling, which at night, depending on where one is on the site, can be heard. The lady at the reception was wonderfully straightforward and attentive, speaks with eye contact and always has a joke on her lips. Wonderful and remarkable, where she probably talks all day! I am sure more things will catch my eye, my family (41,40,12,11) is in any case thrilled and wants to extend the planned 3 nights to 10, but unfortunately, it's not possible to stay longer. Here there would also be pony riding, an excursion trip in the trailer, various hiking tours, a farmer's market on Thursdays (5:00 PM), farmers' shop (open every 2 days), bus stop... Of course, there are also deductions in the B-grade: men's toilets are still of older models, the kiosk is rather expensive.

Okay for a stopover

July 2022

We booked for a short stay of 2 nights, which went smoothly, but also seemed necessary as campers without a reservation were immediately turned away. The choice of site was made primarily based on the described family-friendliness and the location by Lake Faak. Our assigned pitch was a large meadow with a sports field, which is okay for 2 nights, although the distance between the guests who were staying longer on site was considerably closer (which would be too close for us personally). The visual impressions on the homepage unfortunately do not reflect what we experienced on site. The sanitary facilities also appeared better at first glance than they actually were. In our opinion, there were too few showers and toilets for the number of guests, and the cleaning service left a lot to be desired. Soap dispensers from the discount store were usually empty or sometimes not available. In the (men's) showers, there was a musty smell, and the condition of the ceiling (open covering, moldy, generally in need of renovation) also left much to be desired. Limescale remover apparently hadn't been used in quite some time. It was incomprehensible that despite reception hours until 8:00 PM, no payment for the pitch was allowed for early departure at 7:30 PM because "... the cash register closes at 7 PM ..." although the staff member was present at the reception. This had not been communicated in advance or was not adequately recognizable and was more than frustrating since we wanted to leave before 8 AM (opening of the reception). The prices for drinks at the snack bar were at the upper limit, and the rolls in the morning were not in a reasonable price-performance ratio.

There are no fixed pitches at this place. The pitches are assigned to you. We had a large pitch directly in front of the sports field, which was perfect for our children. The wash houses have been renovated and are modern. Unfortunately, the cleaning condition here was not quite optimal. The staff sometimes seemed slightly annoyed. Nevertheless, we found it very nice, as it was relaxed and quiet, and the view of the mountains is great.

Great campsite!!! And we are very excited about the owners. We've rarely met such helpful people. We had a problem with our van. Everything was immediately put into motion to help us. And they helped us, and thanks again for that. We will definitely come back.

Beautiful campsite, very quiet in the off-season, everything clean

August 2021

Beautifully located campsite, mainly consists of a huge field, slightly sloping, however, one must think carefully about where to set up if they want a power connection, as power boxes are very scarce and far apart, no parceling, everyone can set up where and how they like, 2 washhouses 1x for ladies, 1x for gentlemen, everything clean, the lake is a swimming basin, suitable for children, unfortunately not for swimming, you can borrow canoes free of charge, which take you through a channel in the reeds to the actual lake = not tried out, small supermarket within a 3-minute walk, was there in the off-season in mid-September, nothing going on and therefore very quiet. For 1 night for 1 person with a dog also quite expensive (32.80 €)
