KNAUS Campingpark Lackenhäuser

Poor communication. No opportunity to eat nearby at the end of June (during the week). The restaurant on the campsite opens only in August. This information is only available online under "Seasonal operation". It might be better to state directly when it is open. At the end of June, it is peak season, so I assumed it would be open as well. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The campsite looks run down (bad roads). No option to cool down (Campingpod). We had to terminate our stay because it was unacceptable to sleep in the Campingpod at 50 degrees.

The concept is great, but the execution is lacking. The fishing pond is not supervised (it does not belong to the campsite, but the campsite advertises it, so it should also be taken care of). The mini-golf course could use a fresh coat of paint. The church shows signs of moisture issues, as indicated by the smell. The firewood for the campfire needs to be paid for (expensively) and we had to specifically ask for it even though we had already paid the day before. The area for permanent campers does not look very well maintained either. Unfortunately, we also had bad luck with our camping neighbors, who partied every day until 2 a.m. in the party tent... However, the Lackenhäuserexpress, the swimming pool, and the animals are fantastic for the kids. If the attractions offered were better cared for, this place could really be very nice!

Despite a very last-minute request, we received a very nice and especially shaded pitch, just as we wanted. The campsite staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and always have an ear to listen and, importantly, a solution for the guests' wishes. The stay was, as always, top-notch!

We stayed for the second time at this campsite in a holiday home. It is a beautiful campsite, especially suitable for children. The terrace of the holiday home has been enlarged compared to last year, which is definitely a plus. Hikers, road cyclists, and mountain bikers will enjoy it here.

The stay was very pleasant and relaxing. There are many offerings, such as an indoor pool, mini-golf, a playground, a bouncy castle, and quad tours. The renovated sanitary building 1 provides many amenities. We particularly enjoyed the dishwasher. Suggestions for improvement: * The daily cleaning of the sanitary building is somewhat lacking during high occupancy (e.g., during the Pentecost holidays). * The grass was quite tall in some areas, including some pitches. During our one-week stay, we did not notice any mowing activity. * It's a pity that the Timeout Inn was closed throughout the entire Pentecost holiday. Maybe partnerships with nearby guesthouses or an expanded offer in the shop could be considered. * The supermarket offers only a few food items. Perhaps more could be offered by pre-ordering. A big praise goes to the caretaker with the Knaus-Express.

As already mentioned via email, the legally required fire distances of 3 meters are not being observed. The staff may not be aware of these or may ignore them. During check-in, we were informed about the cramped site; there were no alternatives available. We offered to switch to a standard pitch. Weeds are already growing very high in front of sanitary block 1. Additionally, small birches and weeds are sprouting from the asphalt cracks around the indoor pool. The plastic entrance door to sanitary block 1 is more brown than white. It might need replacing or cleaning. The restaurant on the site is always closed. It was supposed to open on June 3, but did not. On June 4, there was a notice saying "closed until further notice". The bathrooms and toilets in sanitary block 1 were renovated some time ago, unfortunately not the sinks in the same building. We have been there several times in the last 8 years, but each time it has gotten worse. We will not be returning.

Very friendly staff. The facility is very clean. One minor criticism is the closed restaurant. However, there are more than enough alternative options.
