Strandcamping Gruber

The site impresses with its location directly by Lake Faak. This area is heavily developed for tourism. The plots are quite small, and especially when the locals use the beach, it gets crowded. In these cases, the sanitary facilities also reach their limits. Generally, the toilets could be cleaned more often, which is to be expected for the prices charged. The restaurant serves simple dishes of good quality, while the kiosk is completely overpriced. During heavy rain, two-thirds of the site turns into a single muddy mess, with only the lakeside pitches draining the water fairly quickly.

We (parents + 2 children (11 and 5)) spent our summer vacation 2023 at Strandcamping Gruber. Generally, we were satisfied with everything!! The offerings for both adults and children are great!! The surroundings are just wonderful. We love the mountains. My husband was able to pursue his hobby (mountain biking). We can also recommend the Kärnten Card. The lake is a dream. Yes. The pitches/places are indeed quite small. No cm will be wasted... This is not always the best solution. The sanitary facilities could be cleaned more often or better. We missed disinfectant dispensers in the toilets and also paper towels. We would come back. Kärnten is worth a trip 👋🏻

The parking spaces under the trees are dark and extremely small (about 40sqm). We seemed to be in a great spot by the lake at first glance. Unfortunately, this lawn is extremely uneven, with many dips. During rain, one would be ankle-deep in water in the awning… the lawn is also used by day visitors as a swimming area. People lay directly in front of the caravan and nearly walk through the awning. The sanitary facilities look nice from the outside, but are partly outdated yet clean on the inside. There is a nice children's bathroom available. Hot water is a matter of luck. The restaurant is good and reasonably priced. Rolls at the kiosk are totally overpriced: 4 rolls, 2 croissants, 2 pretzel sticks for €11.80. We had to park the car unattended in front of the barrier. Location by the lake is great, price is okay. I’d rather pay more and stand dry or have enough space.

We left again after a short time, it was nothing for us. Dogs are allowed in the area but are only tolerated. They are not allowed on the lawn or by the water. If a female dog is in heat, one must leave the area immediately. 3 rolls, 3 croissants, 1 chocolate donut 11.50€ uh yeah I didn’t want to buy out the whole kiosk. The electricity box couldn’t be opened. If a friendly camper hadn’t let us charge with them, we would have been without power. The pitches are small, with a car and awning it’s already a game of Tetris. And at night the noise from the "party area" in Arneitz robs one of sleep. Conclusion: not the right place for us.

We were as a family with 2 children for 2 weeks at Strandcamping Gruber. It was a great vacation. The place is very natural, so that you did not feel like camping in a parking lot despite the demarcation. The pitches are mostly shaded in the forest. The staff is very friendly and always tries to meet all wishes, as far as possible. The sanitary facilities were always clean and were cleaned daily. For people with larger caravans, it is definitely recommended to make a reservation in advance, as some pitches are quite small. We had a beautiful vacation anyway and would gladly come back. We have had very good experiences. They are very eager to make everything as suitable as possible. Very nice. The sanitary facilities are checked and cleaned several times a day. Unfortunately, there are always guests who carelessly leave their mess behind. Good food at the restaurant. The ability for guests to eat together should be organized better. The campsite is well suited for vacation and as a stopover. Families, couples, solo travelers, as well as motorcyclists are very well looked after. Dogs are very welcome. We are leaving tomorrow and would be very happy to return.

We stayed here for 2 weeks with our two dogs and two cats. The shady spot was large enough for our 8.50m motorhome. The new bathing building was more of a bathing temple, with huge mirrors, great shower cabins and impeccably clean toilets. The lake is beautiful and refreshing. The restaurant is new, the menu is extensive, and the pizzas are excellent. Everything at reasonable prices. We will definitely come back; if we're allowed. Because: we haven't paid yet.

This is our first time at this campsite and we are thrilled. Very nice staff, always friendly. The caretaker is always cheerful and competent. The sanitary facilities are like a wellness area, everything is very, very clean. Food is perfect. Short walk to the beach. We can only recommend this place and will definitely come back.
