Temperatures peak at between 13 degrees Celsius in the highlands and 18 degrees in lower Bern. Temperatures rise rapidly in June, July and August during the high season. The mercury then often reads over 20 degrees Celsius. At around 18 degrees Celsius, the water in the mountain lakes is ideal for a refreshing dip. At lower altitudes, outside temperatures of up to 23 degrees Celsius can be expected.
