Absolutely unacceptable behavior. I made a reservation and canceled it in less than 10 minutes. Still, I had to pay the full amount. Even worse: My passport was withheld until I paid – this is unlawful and a massive breach of trust. The owner was very unfriendly and showed no leniency or understanding. This is not how to treat guests. I strongly advise against booking here.

The campsite is open from mid-May to mid-October. The reception is very friendly. The pitches are beautifully located and you can see the mountains from practically every spot. Although the road is nearby, the campsite is very quiet at night. The toilet facilities are clean and the showers are included in the price. At the kiosk, you can only buy the essentials, but a bakery and a Volg store are about 300m away in the village. The Volg is open on Sunday mornings. A roll service from the bakery is available during peak season. From Aeschi "Post", a bus to Spiez leaves every 30 minutes. The stop directly at the campsite is serviced every hour. The bus has a bike carrier. We would love to come back!
