Camping in Interlaken

Interlaken is a sweet place nestled between two turquoise lakes and surrounded by majestic mountains. My partner and I camped in the area at the end of summer, swimming daily in the Brienzersee where the water is so blue and shimmering, it felt almost magical. While swimming you can enjoy the humbling views of the huge mountains all around you. Endless hiking trails surround the area, whether you prefer shaded forest paths or high alpine climbs, you’ll never get bored. The town itself is charming too, with cozy cafés and restaurants, you can spend a day strolling around.

My tip: On hot and sunny days, I suggest not going for a hike on the highest peaks, as there are not so many trees providing shade and the sun can be absolutely brutal. Rather hike lower in the forest.
