Camping holidays in Franconian Switzerland are the perfect mix of relaxing in nature and discovering new sights. The lake district and the Wiesent river offer water-based adventures such as boat trips, fishing and canoeing. Towns such as Pottenstein, Königsfeld in Upper Franconia in the district of Bamberg or Betzenstein, the smallest town in Franconia in the district of Bayreuth, enchant visitors with their charm and are just waiting to be discovered. Holidays on a campsite are not only reserved for permanent campers. Many travellers like to spend the best time of the year on an idyllically situated holiday campsite or a campsite on the banks of a lake. Nowadays, however, the classic tent camp is on the retreat as more and more people are travelling with their own motorhome or caravan.
Located in a very rural region near the town of Pottenstein on the edge of a forest, the Jurahöhe campsite is an ideal starting point for exploring the region on hiking tours. Above all, the many leisure activities should be decisive for a holiday. Kayaking on the Wiesent or Püttlach rivers, the climbing forest in Betzenstein, the fun park in Pottenstein, the beer hiking trail from Waischenfeld or Rabenstein Castle are just a small selection.
If you want to combine Franconian cuisine with an overnight stay, then the Pfaffenstein campsite and inn is the place for you. There are pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents. Pitches can be booked by telephone or via a contact form on the website.
The Betzenstein campsite with its subdivided meadow area is surrounded by forest. In addition to the motorhome pitches, there is an optional trapper's lodge or wooden huts. An outdoor pool, which is just a five-minute walk from the site, is just as popular with families as the pony rides on offer. Betzenstein, the smallest town in Franconia, is just one kilometre away and offers easy access to basic amenities.
The Rothenbühl campsite is currently only open to permanent campers.
