Unfortunately, we felt there was something missing related to water for the children (for example, a water play area). It's essential to install air conditioning in the mobile homes.

It’s a shame that the beautiful swimming pool no longer exists, it has been removed! Instead, it seems that a small conference and communication center and a small indoor play area with water games will be built at this "campsite". By the way: Despite purchasing Wi-Fi, the best spot for it has catastrophic results (barely any reception). For us, unfortunately, after 14 years with the grandchildren, this will be our last time at this site. There are better places with swimming pools and Wi-Fi, but the Friedrichs family wishes much success for the new business idea.

Children are well taken care of, but there are a few things we feel are missing. There is no direct rental for bicycles and go-karts. We primarily came for the pool, which was essential for our kids, but unfortunately, it’s no longer there, and it isn't immediately visible on the website that it’s no longer available; it only shows up after a direct Google search. Overall, the campsite was very clean, except for the toilets near the tent area, which were quite dirty by the afternoon and should be cleaned more regularly. However, the main sanitary facilities, showers, and toilets were clean. The tent area was too crowded, and since you can more or less stand wherever you like, tripping was inevitable due to the guy lines spread out everywhere from the tents. The same applies to the power box where cables were scattered everywhere, posing a danger especially for running kids who might trip or get caught.

I compare our expectations with the situation on-site. We booked, among other reasons, for the swimming pool. It was only after booking that we learned there was no longer a pool. Even worse was that the Camping Butler was broken all week (probably also the week before). I've been booking only spots with emptying machines for years. When a core feature of the booking is missing, the expectations are not met, we have to adapt (especially the children), yet I still pay the same price. What was also lacking was mobile network (O2) - but that was stated on the website. And Wi-Fi. We were 10m next to a restroom and had zero Wi-Fi. Otherwise, the site and the animation for the kids are truly fantastic. There are cocktails, ice cream, pizza, slot machines, 3 playgrounds, etc. So overall, it's a really great place.

The overall package was fine, with the only exception being that there were no opportunities for cooling off.

We had a wonderful time at Gitz. Our pitch was very spacious and had everything we needed. The sanitary facilities are clean and easily accessible. What was really unfortunate was that we had very warm days with temperatures of 30 degrees, and there is no way to cool down. A pool would have been fantastic. We then went to the outdoor swimming pool, but it would have been nicer and more convenient to have a pool at Gitz, and many other guests shared this opinion with us.

We have been happily visiting Gitz for years, but in the future we will no longer spend our summer vacation there because there simply is no pool and no other means to cool off. It would have been great if at least a water play area had been created where young and old can cool off. As it stands, we are forced to leave the site to go swimming, which is really a shame. We spent 5 days at Gitz over the Pentecost, and it was overall really great, but we couldn’t have stayed longer, as the kids started to get bored since the animation program was the same all week. Compared to before COVID, Gitz has unfortunately declined. We will gladly return for a short vacation.

Located just outside the island town of Lindau on Lake Constance, the Gitzenweiler Hof camping park offers carefree holiday fun in one of the most beautiful places in Bavaria. Those seeking relaxation and holidaymakers with dogs will feel just as at home here as families with children. A varied activity programme for young and old ensures that there is never a dull moment. At the GITZ, as the camping park is often called, you can also simply relax and unwind - all year round.
Nestled in the idyllic foothills of the Alps with meadows, forests and ponds, the Gitzenweiler Hof camping park welcomes its guests. There are over 300 pitches for caravans and motorhomes on the 14-hectare site of the camping park. There is also a family tent pitch, overnight car parks and pitches for permanent campers. The standard pitches on grassy ground offer plenty of space with a size of 80 m2, the comfort pitches on paved ground even have a size of 100 m2. The caravans are located either by the pond or on the sun terrace, the campervan pitches at the reception or at the edge of the forest. Holidaymakers without their own vehicle can rent a mobile home or a Varia-Home for a special glamping experience. Six sanitary buildings with sinks, cooking areas and washing machines, including two imaginatively designed children's washing areas, are spread across the grounds of the Gitzenweiler Hof camping park. If you want more privacy, you can book your own hire bathroom. Dogs are allowed on the entire site. A dog shower room is also available. The Gitzenweiler Hof with its typical Bavarian-Swabian cuisine or the Pinocchio pizzeria and snack bar cater for your physical well-being. A supermarket tempts you with fragrant breakfast rolls and everyday necessities. WLAN is available free of charge for one hour a day or can be booked as an alternative to an overnight stay.
The Gitzenweiler Hof camping park is a real leisure Eldorado and is therefore particularly popular with families. From good-mood dancing in the morning to barbecues in the evening, there's plenty going on. The atmosphere is always relaxed and laid-back. Numerous sporting and creative hands-on activities are organised by a friendly entertainment team, including forest explorations, beach volleyball tournaments, Zumba courses and balancing acts on the slackline. An adventure playground, a petting zoo and a pony farm make children's eyes light up. In the evenings, there is live music and shows on the GITZ stage.
The area surrounding the Gutzweiler Hof camping park is ideal for adventurous excursions. Guests can go canoeing on the canoe pond or climb the 1,062 metre high Pfänder on a guided hike. You may also discover the nature around the GITZ in other ways, such as apple juice pressing or forays through the park's own herb garden. During a holiday on Lake Constance, a stroll along Lindau harbour entrance with its imposing lion statue is just as recommended as a boat trip to the enchanting flower island of Mainau. A day trip to the pile-dwelling museum in Unteruhldingen brings the Stone and Bronze Ages back to life. In winter, you can set off directly from the campsite on a perfectly groomed cross-country ski trail.
