Great small campsite in the middle of nature

We have been here for the fifth time already. So far, no more than three days, as we were just passing through. It has pleased us better each time, so this time we booked nine nights. If you are looking for a First Class Hilten spot, you should not come here. The campsite is only for true nature campers who love the simple life, as camping always used to be. If you want rolls in the morning - get them yourself, if you need entertainment - do it yourself. We don’t need that. If you want to bike - come here. You can cycle for hours through woods and meadows. Need something, ask Stephan. He is the groundskeeper and the boss of the site. Warm, friendly, always in a good mood. Want to eat pizza, no problem: 200 m and you’re at Maria's. Sanitary facilities - a bit outdated. So what? We are too. It’s clean, and that’s what counts.

Simple Small Campsite

Very good8

Just stop, call the site manager (Stefan), choose a spot, and start camping. Entry until 10 PM is great for us. Freshwater supply, waste disposal, and chemical toilet cleaning are available. The sanitary facilities are clean and include everything except showers. There are plenty of shady and sunny spots that are clean. A pizzeria is in close proximity, and our tuna-ham-onion pizza and the chef salad were top-notch. We find the price/performance ratio reasonable. The site itself is a hidden gem for campers who enjoy hiking, cycling, or just want peace and quiet. Dogs are allowed (on a leash), for a fee.

Perfect for those who love nature

A small, pleasant campsite. Lots of nature, trees, shrubs. No flashy place. Very quiet. There was little going on. The campers who were here were all very considerate. Stefan is the master of the site. He helps with every problem, always in a good mood. It was nice to get to know him. There are construction machines parked in a few corners of the site. If that bothers you, then stay away. We didn't care, the peace and nature were the most important to us. In the village, there's a small inn run lovingly by Maria, who is already 75 years old. No 5-star menus, just simple good food. Maria is a kind-hearted person, friendly and nice. There's also the Zöllner inn if you want to eat "properly". They serve game, schnitzels, fries, salad, and more. The surroundings are great for hiking. We would love to return.

Price-performance ratio is not right!

April 2022

In principle, a nice small simple campsite. However, unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right. No service whatsoever. (next shopping opportunity 5km) Per person €12.00, motorhome €10.00, + shower + electricity + connection fee, garbage bag €4.00, etc.

Quiet, clean, simple, tent area sloped

June 2018

Simple campsite without much frills but with everything you need. I find the price okay for the service. Therefore, 3 out of 5 stars, just average. The place is well-kept in the sense that the grass is mowed, there is no trash lying around, you find plenty of functioning toilets, showers, etc. but some others have been waiting for their repairs for some time, Wi-Fi is available but not usable, no covered dining/living/cooking area where campers could go during rain. In early July, also quite quiet on weekends, acoustically as well as in terms of atmosphere; depending on the wind direction, you can hear the noise of the highway at night. At night it also gets cold in the midsummer, the starry sky is beautifully clear to see. The house with toilets, washrooms, etc. is spacious, and there is also plenty of space for the few users in the area. The tent area is okay: the majority is noticeably and perceptibly sloped and has some stones about 7 cm deep, but you can always find space for pegs between them. Only in a few spots do trees provide shade, but not extensively.
