Campingplatz Jurahöhe

The location is good, we had reserved for 2 nights but canceled within 24 hours due to illness. Unfortunately, despite a goodwill request to the operator, no partial amount was waived. The operator engaged a collection agency which doubled the costs.

If you are used to larger campgrounds, you may not have very high expectations... The sanitary facilities are clearly insufficient. You have to stand in line for everything at peak times. Unfortunately, the toilet paper is often empty, and there is no replacement available. Around noon, the facilities are so dirty that it's better to wait until they are cleaned. The operators are nice and helpful, but unfortunately, this cannot be said for the majority of the other campers. We have never experienced such a lack of greetings. Often, people just looked at you questioningly when you greeted them in the sanitary area or while washing up. Very disappointing! The entrance is not recommended for vehicles over 2.30 meters. You have to squeeze along a house wall to get into the site.. the other side is blocked by large boulders. Branches additionally grow into this narrow area. One wrong move and you could get stuck. Marks on the wall indicate that this has likely happened before. Okay for the price, but with significant improvement potential.

Quiet spot in the middle of Franconian Switzerland. Large plots/ Hiking trail passes directly by and leads through magnificent nature (rocks, caves, etc.). Showers are quite outdated, Wi-Fi is totally unstable and often non-existent, mobile network is practically non-existent. Bread rolls can be ordered, fire bowls can be rented (wood must be purchased). Overall very beautiful, helpful, and mega quiet.

Campsite in a quiet location. The toilets and shower room are dirty and are only cleaned once a day, which I find is too little, especially now in the coronavirus times. There is also only the one washing room next to the restaurant for the entire site. Campsites are large and most are in the sun, with hardly any shaded areas.

Very nice owners, good food and delicious cakes. Lunch with bears on various weekends. Wonderful area for hiking and also climbing, we enjoyed it very much, we will definitely come back 😊

The recommended local butcher shop no longer exists; it was closed about 1 year ago, and the butcher passed away about 8 weeks ago.
