The path leads through pine forests and over a dune field to the fine sandy beaches of the Polish peninsula of Hel. Anyone camping here will have an unforgettable holiday. Motorhome and caravan drivers will find numerous quiet corners and ideal conditions for spending a wonderful camping holiday on the beach. Four-legged guests and families with children are also welcome.

Special features of camping on the Hel Peninsula

Once formed from a chain of small islands, the Hel Peninsula is now a popular destination for campers. The idyllic peninsula is located on the Polish Baltic coast in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Despite being only 34 kilometres long and 3 kilometres wide, it offers numerous opportunities for leisure activities. Most of the campsites on the Hel Peninsula are located directly by the sea, although some of them are slightly inland. Not only beach holidaymakers are drawn to the Hel Peninsula with their motorhome: water sports enthusiasts will also find ideal conditions here, especially for kitesurfing and diving.

Best time to visit

The best time to go camping on the Hel Peninsula is between May and October. Hikers, cyclists and kitesurfers will also find the best conditions for their favourite sport at this time. Due to its proximity to the German islands of Rügen and Usedom, the climate is also comparable. Winters are generally somewhat milder than on the mainland. In addition, the summers are mostly warm with temperatures of up to 24 degrees Celsius, while the water temperatures in the Polish Baltic Sea are around 18 degrees Celsius in the warmest months. A steady wind blows almost all year round.
