Many resorts also offer outdoor pools or indoor pools for bathers. How to get there

Travelling to Pénestin from Germany is easy by car, motorhome or caravan. The distances are around 1,510 km from Berlin, 1,360 km from Hamburg, 1,280 km from Munich and 1,210 km from Nuremberg. There are various ways to get to your destination. To avoid wasting time, many holidaymakers take the motorway to Pénestin.

One option is via Utrecht, Antwerp and Lille to Paris, another is via Aachen and Liège to Paris. The route from Saarbrücken via Reims to the French capital is also popular. From Paris, most campers take the A11 motorway past Le Mans and Nantes to their destination. Sufficient breaks are a decisive safety factor on the long journey.

As there can be higher traffic volumes and delays, especially during the holiday season, an overnight stop is often recommended. If you are travelling north on the A1 motorway from Lille to Paris, you should take a break at one of the busiest and best-equipped service stations in France, the Aire d'Assevillers.
