The Šibenik-Knin region is located in Croatia between the Adriatic Sea and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The tranquil Camp Krka near Lozovac is a very family-run campsite with beautiful pitches and a heated outdoor pool. The camp is a starting point for hikes in the Krka National Park and to the waterfalls of the same name. The few mobile homes are well equipped and ensure a positive overall rating for the site.
Camp Rehut, with just a few pitches and mobile homes, is idyllically situated on a bay with a beach of gravel and sand. Organised boat trips through the Kornati islands as well as guided rides and riding courses are very popular with guests. The cleanliness and friendliness of the staff add to the overall positive impression.
It gets hot everywhere in Croatia in summer, which is why most campers are drawn to the coast. With a view of the glistening Adriatic Sea, a light sea breeze around your ears and the lapping water at your feet, the maximum daily temperatures of up to 38 degrees Celsius in July and August are bearable. The water temperature is 20 degrees Celsius and warmer.
It cools down slightly in the shady Krk National Park. In the summer months, the maximum daily temperature there is 30 degrees Celsius and the average temperature is 23 degrees Celsius. For camping in Šibenik-Knin, the best time to travel inland is July, August and September, when there is little rainfall. On the coast, motorhome and caravan travellers should, if possible, travel in the early or late season, when it is less hot and less crowded.
