Christos tip

I’ve travelled along the east coast of beautiful Sicily. Catania is a big city with a rich history, lying at the foot of the active volcano Etna. It’s impressive how quickly the environment transforms as you drive up the mountain. North of Etna lies Taormina, a smaller, touristic town with a nice view of the volcano. I also went to Syracuse, once an ancient Greek colony, where I saw the old Greek theatre and temples. Of course, one of the highlights of my journey was the food — everything was really good.

My tip: If you can, travel by car. That way you’re more flexible and can explore the smaller villages along the way, stopping whenever you feel like it. Also, the best restaurants are the ones locals go to. Some may not seem very inviting from the outside, but if a local says it’s good, it’s definitely worth trying.
