Camping on the Lofoten Islands

The Lofoten Islands had long been our dream destination, and eventually we made that dream come true. There is hardly anywhere else where such dramatic landscapes meet such tranquility. Rugged cliffs, turquoise blue sea, small red fishing huts, and right in the middle of it all: our camper. That's all it takes to be happy.

My tip: If you get up early enough, you can experience the midnight sun all to yourself. For us as a family, it's an unforgettable moment every time: the children are asleep, the sky glows orange, and the world seems to stand still. It's also worth it from a culinary point of view: in Henningsvær, you can get fresh cod right at the harbor and small cafés with cinnamon rolls, and on top of that, there's an incredible view of the fjord.
