A holiday with a caravan or motorhome in Apeldoorn means romantic and unforgettable moments in one of the most scenic and fascinating regions of the Netherlands. The municipality of Apeldoorn and the city of the same name are located in the centre of the country. Travelling by caravan or motorhome from Germany is extremely easy. From Berlin it is around 580 km to Apeldoorn, from Munich 760 km and from Cologne only 200 km. If the journey starts in Berlin, the route could be interrupted by a short detour to the interesting city of Hanover. Along the route there are several motorway service stations as well as rest areas where refuelling is cheaper. Longer waiting times should be planned for at weekends during the summer months, especially in the Hanover area and in the Ruhr region. Traffic obstructions and traffic jams are not uncommon here.
When travelling from Munich to Apeldoorn, the main route is via the A3 motorway. At the weekends during the peak season from June to August, you can expect traffic restrictions due to sometimes heavy congestion. If you wish, you can plan a worthwhile diversions in the middle section of the journey.

The idyllic waterways run for almost 8 kilometres through the municipality. During a picturesque boat trip, you can marvel at old farmhouses, well-tended gardens and a multitude of bridges.

Swimmers, surfers and sailors take advantage of the mild water temperatures of over 16 degrees from June to September to enjoy the Veluwemeer. The weather is even more pleasant in spring and autumn, with April being the month with the least rainfall. To admire the colourful tulip fields that the Netherlands is so famous for, a visit from mid-April to mid-May is recommended. In the winter months, temperatures are usually still in the plus range.
