Camping in Kassel

Kassel is particularly beautiful because of its parks. The biggest highlight is the Bergpark with the Hercules statue and the water features at the top, and Wilhelmshöhe Palace at the bottom. From the top, you have a wonderful view over all of Kassel and far beyond when the weather is good. Several times a year, the illuminated water displays take place, which are highly recommended. The Karlsaue with the orangery and the island Sieben Berge is also well worth a walk. Sometimes works from the Documenta are publicly displayed on its lawns. In the city centre, the town hall is very beautiful, though I personally find the rest less spectacular.

My tip: Walk from the Hercules all the way down to Wilhelmshöhe Palace; you pass many beautiful spots. But keep in mind that the path is very steep, so people with knee problems should avoid it. For everyone else, I highly recommend it. Those seeking a challenge can, of course, walk from the palace up to the Hercules.
