Once a year, my husband and I spend a weekend in Strasbourg. From the city campsite, it’s about a 20-minute walk to the old town. If you prefer not to walk, you can take the tram into the centre. The first stop is Petit France, the former district of tanners and fishermen, with its crooked half-timbered houses, canals, bridges and cobblestone streets. The Gothic cathedral with its tall, pointed tower can be seen from far away. After an extensive visit, the small streets of the old town invite you to explore further.
My tip: During Advent, Strasbourg transforms into the Capitale de Noël. The Christmas capital enchants visitors with beautifully decorated houses, streets full of lights and Christmas markets throughout the city centre.
