Best time to travel

If you can do without heat on your holiday, the province is the perfect place for you. It is one of the coldest regions in the whole of Sweden. Most guests prefer the months from May to August for camping in Jämtland, as the temperatures are at their highest at this time with an average of 18 degrees Celsius.

Campers can safely leave their bikinis and swimming trunks at home, as the water temperature of the lake reaches a maximum of 12 degrees Celsius. The most rainfall occurs in July and August. Keen skiers and snowboarders benefit from plenty of snow in the season from December to the beginning or middle of May.
