As a cross-country skiing centre with an adjoining buffet restaurant and large outlet sports shop, Åsarna Skicenter is ideal for a winter sports holiday in the wild north of Sweden. The holiday resort with rental accommodation and a partly flat, in some places gravelled area for caravans and motorhomes is located in Åsarna. The tranquil village in southern Jämtland is nicknamed Guldbyn, meaning golden village, as it is home to various world champions and Olympic medallists in cross-country skiing. Twelve varied cross-country ski trails provide beginners and advanced skiers with wonderful experiences in the snow. The slopes of Klövsjö are just under 20 kilometres away for skiing and snowboarding. Not far from the campsite, two lakes offer natural swimming fun in the warmer months. Those who enjoy fishing or immersing themselves in nature on canoe trips will also get their money's worth.
