A campsite that could be refreshed here and there. But for families who just want to enjoy the time, it is perfect. The sanitary facilities were clean, the pitch was large. There is a shop where you can get a wide selection of bakery products, but everything else is limited in choice. There is also a restaurant on the premises. The staff were mostly completely overwhelmed and at one point even argued loudly in the kitchen. You have direct access to a small section of the beach and the swimming beach is not far away. For the money, we would go back, but there are nicer campsites.

Quiet place; clean, bright sanitary facilities; child-friendly, regular events; directly borders the beach, separated only by a bike path; snack bar, convenience store; a bit outside, bike recommended, bicycles can be rented.

The sanitary facilities were clean and the pitch was very large. Unfortunately, the grass in some places became just dirt due to the larger vehicle, which made setting up the tent difficult and made it impossible to walk barefoot. Unfortunately, the place didn't invite sitting outside at all. However, the location was great. I would be happy to return for 2-3 nights, but not for longer.

A campsite that has aged and unfortunately is not well maintained. There are great playgrounds available if here and there the boards and steps were renewed, as well as a trimming of the bushes. Wifi for a fee is unfortunately a disaster, reception depending on how the wind blows, one might think. The sanitary building has aged. Unfortunately, some showers were broken or there was no hot water on one day. Cleaning times are not adhered to. Positive aspect is the beach and the bistro.

We were welcomed nicely and the site as well as the washrooms are clean and well-maintained. I had the impression that the site is run conservatively. The Wi-Fi, which is very important for our kids, had to be purchased separately. That’s basically not a problem, but the reception (at times) and data speed were moderate. The washrooms are clean and well-kept, but have a 1980s swimming pool character. Many people complained about the rabbits. I have to say, "yes" the rabbits are here and you can also see their droppings, but I don’t find it that drastic. The beach is right outside the door, and is also very beautiful. Payment is in advance and when we wanted to leave 2 days earlier, we were literally told, "you can do that, but you won’t get any money back." In conclusion: our stay was not a total disaster, but I wouldn’t come here again. There are too many alternatives.

Influenced by the good reviews, we booked for 14 days in September. Since we are currently on the island, we have gone there more often to let the parcel and the place affect us. When asked if we could set up an air pavilion when we come, we were told no, it would fly away. In response to my statement that I had it standing on the island even during storms for several years and it did not fly away, I was told: no, it is prohibited (although some frame pavilions were standing there). The setup direction is also specified for you, so you cannot choose how to position it yourself. Unfortunately, the place is also maintained very carelessly, to put it mildly. The trimming of the trees has apparently not been carried out for quite some time, so the caravan could get caught on some branches on arrival. The sections of the hedges, which are also completely overgrown, were partly lying around everywhere. Unfortunately, there are no trash cans or dog poop bags at all, which I find really unfortunate as a dog owner. However, I must also say that I did not see any dog poop lying around anywhere. When we then went to a small snack at the bistro, we made the decision to cancel the spot we had booked. The snack looked uncared for and dirty on the terrace outside. That really pushed us over the edge, so we decided otherwise. It’s a shame; actually a nice spot in a good location, but due to the lack of maintenance, we are lacking the motivation to book here.

I was briefly here with the van to go diving and stayed for 2 nights. As requested, I had a spot near the washroom and the dive center. The staff was really friendly and also very helpful beyond the usual. In the mornings, there were delicious fresh rolls and the washroom was clean and tidy. Everything was great so far. What dampened my mood a bit was the ever-present droppings from seagulls, pigeons, and rabbits, who happily share the space and which I stepped in multiple times - that really is gross in the van… The lush bush and tree landscape also provides the animal residents with ample opportunities for various nesting… Nonetheless, I would come back.

Camping Südstrand means camping on the sunniest island in Germany. At the campsite in a dream location on the south beach of Fehmarn, nature lovers get their money's worth, as do those seeking peace and quiet and active guests. Families with children appreciate the varied holiday programme, nature lovers enjoy the idyllic surroundings and animal lovers go on long hikes along the Baltic Sea when camping with a dog.
Surrounded by fields and in an idyllic location on the Baltic Sea beach, Camping Südstrand is one of Fehmarn's most popular campsites. On the 17-hectare, well-kept meadow site there are 450 spacious pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents. There are also fully equipped caravans for hire with spacious awnings. The pitches are 80 - 140m² in size and have connections for water, grey water and electricity. Many of the pitches are also equipped with WLAN. Motorhome drivers can park their vehicle outside the barrier, with supply and waste disposal on the pitch. Tent campers can spend the night on their own tent pitch or on the standard pitch for large tents. Fully equipped caravans with kitchen, fridge, furniture and television are also available for hire. Alternatively, you can also spend your camping holiday in the comfortable and rainproof bungalow tents with gas cookers for hire. The campsite's amenities also include a grocery shop and a restaurant. The campsite also boasts clean sanitary facilities, a baby changing room and wheelchair-accessible toilets and showers.
One of the reasons why Camping Südstrand is so popular is the huge range of leisure activities on offer. Beach holidaymakers and water sports enthusiasts feel right at home here. The Baltic coast of Fehmarn is ideal for swimming, sailing and windsurfing. If you want to take a trip into the fascinating underwater world, the resort's diving centre is just the place for you. The campsite offers an exciting sports and entertainment programme not only on water, but also on land. One of the highlights is the challenging high ropes course with spectacular obstacles up to 12 metres high. A climbing tower awaits the youngest holidaymakers. The 6,500 m² nature playground with the giant swing "Tarzanschwinger", a water playground and a labyrinth also provides fun for younger guests. An extensive leisure programme is offered during the summer months: Guests can play beach volleyball or streetball together or take part in family games on the beach. In the evenings, live music creates a lively atmosphere. There is also an extensive children's entertainment programme. Under the watchful eye of experienced carers, the youngest guests meet up in the witches' house for magic or craft workshops and other exciting events. In the Augenweide willow pavilion, holidaymakers of all ages can make new friends at storytelling sessions or hands-on concerts for children, folklore dances, drumming workshops or belly dancing classes.
Fehmarn is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful German islands in the Baltic Sea and, with its extensive beaches and fascinating dune landscapes, a true paradise for nature lovers and hikers in particular. The 184 km² German island has a marvellous 78 km long coastline and is also ideal for cycling tours. The well-developed circular route leads directly along the shore and passes unspoilt beaches and impressive cliffs. The Wallnau waterfowl reserve is also worth a visit. Thousands of birds breed here every autumn, offering the best conditions for exciting and educational bird watching. The long, fine sandy beaches, most of which are shallow, are perfect for families with children. There is also a separate dog beach at the campsite. Wellness is not neglected on Fehmarn either. In the Fehmare bathing and adventure world, guests can relax in the sauna, steam bath or seawater pool and enjoy fantastic views of the south beach. The bathing world is within walking distance of the campsite.
