Very nicely located spot, nice private bath

We had reserved a spot with a private bath, min. 100m2, looked great in the pictures on the homepage. The reality was a dusty mess with many loose stones, not even 100m2, so slanted that the supports weren’t sufficient, 3 trees scattered around the spot, difficult to place the caravan at all. There was nothing green here, just dirt and stones. Across from us was a washhouse, where for 24 hours only the doors slam and at night dishes are washed without consideration. The same goes for most dog owners, who allow their dogs to relieve themselves on all parcels, with everything that entails, great. When you look forward to your vacation and take quite a long trip only to find such a situation, it is very unfortunate. The pool area is also aging, raised tiles, old loungers, cleaning the front area with leaf blowers… Everything but 5 stars.

Deficient campsite, does not deserve 5 stars.

The campsite is small and quiet, the size of the pitches is sufficient and the staff at check-in are very nice and helpful. The baguette was fresh baked in the morning, however there was not much else to buy in the shop. The sanitary facilities are old, have deficiencies, are not clean and have no separation between men and women. The pool also has deficiencies in the walls. We had to leave earlier due to illness. However, Sandaya refuses to refund part of the bill. We have never experienced this in many years of camping holidays. The campsite does not deserve 5 stars. We will not return and cannot recommend Sandaya.

very nice spot right by the river; 15min walk to Vallon Pont d'Arc; bread roll service on order; small shop; large pitches; sanitary facilities clean, possibly sparse in high season, for spring unfortunately very drafty/cold; good starting point for hiking/cycling

Unfortunately taken over by a camping chain

Nice green area, great location, decent clean sanitary facilities, nice pool with lifeguard. Caution with small children, the river is dangerous, do not leave them unattended, there is no fence or similar. Unfortunately, the place has been taken over by a chain; whether it will remain nice is yet to be seen. Generally, there are several things that would need renovation in the near future; will the money be spent for that? In spring, many seniors from the Netherlands (regular guests). The area is great. Tip: Chauvet cave and a canoe tour! At night, sometimes jet planes flew by, which became very loud, but fortunately passed after 30 minutes. The shop has very little selection, but baguettes and croissants on order are highly recommended. In conclusion, we would come back. Overall, we liked it very much.

Always happy to be here

We have been to this site for the third time. Everything is simply perfect here. The plots are marked by bushes and trees, and there are plenty of shaded areas. The sanitary facilities are always clean. The reception is always very warm. The way to Vallon-Pont-d'Arc takes only 10 minutes by bike. We can also recommend the restaurant. We usually travel in the off-season with our dog. Of course, we can't judge what it's like in the high season.

We visited the campsite for the second time as a family (2 adults and 3 children). Overall, it’s a super, nice, small site where nothing is missing.

We went paddling here with our two kids (pickup at the campsite). We really enjoyed it. Very friendly, nice large pitches on the banks of the Ardeche, and clean sanitary facilities. Croissants and baguettes can be ordered in the morning at the small shop on the site; it takes 20 minutes on foot to reach the beautiful Vallon Pont d'Arc. We didn't use the restaurant as we ate in the town. Since we were there with our camper (7.45m), we happily rented the Renault Zoe (range 400km, price €60, including charging). We would love to come back for paddling.

Beautifully located directly on the Ardeche. Supermarket very small and expensive. Large parcels.

Actually a very nice place. The restaurant, the pool, and the mini-market were not very nice. Too loud live music in the restaurant. Prices were already quite high in June. You need a car or bicycle to get to the nearest supermarket.

More info about Camping Sandaya La Roubine
La Roubine campsite is located on the banks of the River Ardèche in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Surrounded by a rural idyll with shady acacia trees, holidaymakers can enjoy an unforgettable family holiday with swimming fun and walks along the water. Dogs are also very welcome at this small campsite, which offers its guests the convenience of a shady beach on the dammed Ardèche.
Family-friendly campsite with its own swimming pool
There are just 97 pitches for campers and motorhomes spread over an area of around 7 hectares. On the flat, partly natural meadow on the banks of the Ardèche, hedges border the individual pitches, ensuring plenty of privacy for a holiday with the whole family. The creative entertainment programme immediately involves children, who quickly make friends. Teenagers can socialise with their peers from all over the world while playing tennis or beach volleyball. The mini golf course is also very popular with families. In addition, a playground and a children's pool in the bathing area are particularly popular with younger guests. The spacious outdoor pool with water slides is not the only way to cool off on site: Directly from La Roubine campsite, bathers have access to a gently sloping, shady beach. If you want to walk along the banks of the Ardèche to the impressive natural stone bridge Pont d'Arc, you can hike the 7-kilometre route or hire an e-bike at Camping Sandaya La Roubine. Dog owners are also welcome at the campsite: The tall acacia groves around La Roubine are ideal for long walks. A separate dog shower ensures that dogs can cool off on hot summer days and keep their paws clean.
Canoe trips through the vineyards of the Côtes du Vivarais
The village of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc is just 2 kilometres from the campsite. Thanks to its central location in the middle of the Côtes du Vivarais wine-growing region, wine production has played an important role here for centuries. Visitors can look over the winemakers' shoulders on excursions to the vineyards or purchase wines and regional delicacies at the Vallon-Pont-d'Arc market: Lavender products, chestnut purée, honey and much more are produced in the surrounding area. The Pont d'Arc stone arch is located near Vallon-Pont-d'Arc. This impressive natural monument is the entrance to the Gorges de l'Ardèche. Cyclists and motorcyclists can experience the majestic ambience on the panoramic road above the gorge - down in the valley, kayakers and canoeists paddle through the towering cliffs. For decades, a canoe tour has been the most popular and adventurous way to explore the gorges.
