small individual place
No mass processing, almost everyone stands in the front row behind the dike. The spots are pleasantly large. Friendly operators and clean toilets. Child-friendly. Stony beach, but not overcrowded.

A small, family-friendly place conveniently located on the north side of the island of Fehmarn. Wide dike for playing, running, cycling, and boating. We have been there for 35 years, now the children are grown and go there by themselves.

Gastronomic offers
Just a few steps away from the North Sea, Camping am Deich is an East Frisian oasis of well-being for the whole family, including dogs.
Camping am Deich is perfect for a relaxing family holiday in East Frisia. In the middle of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park lies the very well-kept and exceptionally quiet campsite in Upleward, a tranquil harbour village in the Krummhörn-Greetsiel region. The location directly behind the dyke is ideal for anyone who enjoys spending time in nature just a stone's throw from the North Sea. There is a bathing area at the campsite and, on the side of the dyke away from the water, the only dry beach in northern Germany with traditional beach chairs, opportunities to play beach volleyball and sweeping views over the surrounding marshland. On the 7-hectare site of Camping am Deich, there is a flat meadow area with trees and bushes, bordered on two sides by ditches and mainly parcelled out pitches for caravans and motorhomes. The associated shower blocks including baby bath, communal kitchen and washing machine room are of a high standard. Camping am Deich also offers small chalets with plenty of privacy and fully equipped kitchens. Guests will find everything they need for their daily requirements in the mini-market with bread roll service.
If you don't want to cook for yourself at Camping am Deich, you can eat at the campsite's own restaurant, Erbsenbinder. Inspired by the style of East Frisian Gulf farms, it exudes a cosy country house atmosphere and spoils its guests with delicious dishes. On the outdoor terrace there are shady spots to feast and relax in the salty fresh air. The campsite's wellness area is also an inviting place to recharge your batteries. It features a Finnish sauna and a sanarium. A wide range of massages is also on offer for pure well-being. There is also plenty on offer for children at the campsite. The little ones will discover a large wooden pirate ship for climbing and romping around as well as a water play area where building castles and splashing around with other playmates is great fun. A football pitch invites you to play football, while in the Kinderland there is no room for boredom, even in North German bad weather. In the summer holidays, entertainers provide variety with great games and make-up activities. Camping am Deich is also particularly dog-friendly, with dog showers, litter bowls and dog beds to cater for your faithful four-legged friends. In addition to walks with your dog, the campsite is also a perfect starting point for hikes, cycle tours and excursions to the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hire bikes can be organised at the modern reception. Tours lead to the Pilsum lighthouse, the dreamy fishing village of Greetsiel and the mussel route through the heart of nature.
In Upleward on the west coast of East Frisia, the name says it all at Camping am Deich. In a quiet location, just a short walk from the North Sea, the dog-friendly campsite with wellness oasis, children's entertainment and its own restaurant is ideal for nature lovers and families.
