First Camp Frösön - Östersund

Very friendly staff. The campsite is well maintained and the sanitary facilities are clean. However, there are far too few toilets and showers available. We stood on a gravel spot, one of the few that is level. The other pitches are more or less steep. Wedges are necessary. I would only use it as a transitspot. Dog lovers are very welcome there, loud barking included.

This campsite is not recommended. There is no Wifi, and no attempts have been made to get it working. The site is far from the city and the lake. There are no swimming opportunities. The pitches are all on a slope on a grassy field. If it has rained and you get stuck there, you will not receive any help from the campsite. If you cannot get free with the help of fellow campers, you must call roadside assistance. The restrooms were clean, but 5 toilets and 5 showers for men and women (unisex) are far too few, especially since there are not even curtains in the showers, there are no hooks by the sinks, and there is no possibility to put them up. The light in the restrooms goes out after 20 seconds, and you have to wave somehow if you don’t want to sit in the dark. This campsite should really be avoided if possible.

Very nicely located. Old wash house not nice, 2 newer wash houses with cabins (toilet, sink, shower) very good. Organization cumbersome (despite prepayment one must check out, waiting line). Reception depending on the person very good to clueless.
