Camping in Toulouse

I spent four days in December in Toulouse with two friends. During the Christmas season, several Christmas markets take place and the city is beautifully decorated with lights; the weather was mild as well. At the Christmas market by the town hall, we tried Aligot, a kind of mashed potatoes with lots of cheese – not only a favourite among many French people but also one of ours! You can easily spend the whole day enjoying food between bakeries, cafés, and restaurants. Important: Pain au Chocolat is called Chocolatine here!

My tip: Definitely take the cable car! It is part of the public transport network, so you can use it with a regular metro day ticket. At the stop by the hospital, a small path leads to the observatory, from where you have a wonderful view over the city. We even took an extra ride across to the other side of the Garonne — simply because the view from the cable car was so beautiful.
