My husband and I reached Rovaniemi during our motorhome tour to Norway. The capital of Lapland lies in the far north of Finland and is known for its modern architecture. Our destination was the Arktikum Museum. We spent several hours exploring the exhibition on the Arctic and on the lives of people in Finland in the adjoining Lapland Regional Museum.
My tip: Rovaniemi is considered the home of Santa Claus. You can visit him in the village at the Arctic Circle north of the city.
