Waldbad Isny

We as a young family had a perfect time at the Waldbad. The place is located in the woods and has a manageable size, which makes everything very personal and the team takes great care of the guests. Since we had such positive experiences in the summer, we will be coming back to the Waldbad between the years. As winter sports enthusiasts, this is the perfect starting point for us, as the cross-country ski trail is also not far away.

The campsite is quite peaceful, located a bit away from Isny. There is a private "lake" for bathing. The area is distributed over 3 levels, and as far as can be seen, all pitches are covered with turf grids (concrete or plastic). The standard pitch size is just sufficient for caravans and cars. In the height of summer, the campsite is ideally situated between trees, so it doesn't get too hot. There is also a small well-kept playground that our kids enjoyed. The sanitary facilities are clean and well-maintained. Mobile reception is rather poor to non-existent in some areas. Wi-Fi has to be booked at an additional cost, but it runs smoothly throughout the entire area.

1 night was possible although ADAC states from 5 nights. Very friendly, idyllic in the forest. The restaurant has a new owner, it’s not running perfectly yet but I am sure it will. Not for luxury campers but honest and clean. You can find pictures on Facebook at Unterfranken Camper.

Stayed in the camping barrel, unfortunately it's in the shade a bit, in great heat definitely ideal, in September the sun isn't as high anymore so it becomes too shady. In the camping barrel, there's a very effective heater. All in all, it was still very nice!!

friendly staff, nice restaurant

The campsite is fine. The sanitary facilities are clean. Unfortunately, the service in the restaurant is rather taciturn and also unfriendly. Children do not seem to be welcome here.

The campground is beautifully situated in a tranquil setting. The operators are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is family-oriented. Many pitches have ample shade. The beautiful town of Isny is easily reachable on foot for shopping.

We spent 10 days there with the tent. The location right by the lake was perfect. We had only 10m to the water. A newer washroom was farther away, while older showers and toilets were closer. Unfortunately, the paths are so dark at night that you need a lamp. We also didn't like that the only way leads over the sloped grass to the washroom/toilet. You can eat small snacks at the kiosk. Large portions, limited selection. No shopping options, but there is a bread roll service. About 25 minutes on foot to the town. Although the main road was very loud in the evenings, at night, and in the mornings, we had 10 nice days there. The site is modestly sized and you have to expect bathers who also use the shower rooms since the forest bath is public. Following a note from me, the lamps in the washroom, which were heavily contaminated with insects, were cleaned immediately. Supposedly, the lighting of the shower rooms is to be renewed, which is why not all lamps were repaired. Minus. We would still come back, although not for as long.
