Unfortunately, I can report a lot of unpleasant things about Urban Garden. I complained that I was paying the same high price for the VW bus and one person, as 2 people with a large motorhome (which I happened to learn), namely 37.00 €! The sanitary facilities were very outdated, uncomfortable, there was no toilet seat, and it didn't really look clean. The pitch had no electricity, but that didn't matter, but there was a bucket with garbage around and cigarette butts everywhere. The bus does not go to the city for free anymore. On my complaints (several times), there was no accommodation as I expected a certain refund. For me: No recommendation and never again there!

We were here for a city visit in Ghent. 36 € per night for a large muddy landscape! The site urgently needs to be reinforced for year-round rental. Water was shut off everywhere, we could not refill drinking water with a hose, only canister filling was possible. Staff was helpful, showers were clean. But we were also the only guests. Definitely not coming back at this time of year!

The campsite is clean, the staff is nice and friendly, speaks English, French, and German. The sanitary facilities could use a renovation, but the rest is great. Nearby, there is a free shuttle bus to the city center.

The website of the campsite sounds good and gives hope for a modern campsite in advance. How disappointing the reality is when you are on the site. We have been camping for a long time, but this site was the absolute low point. A neglected urban campsite that needs care in every corner. The washrooms are old, unkempt, urgently in need of renovation, and not recommended to anyone. Mould on the silicone joints, clogged toilets, clogged sinks, unpleasant odors from the sewage system (it stinks!) After the recent rainfall (the site cannot do anything about that), the washrooms stood 1-2cm under water and could only be accessed with rubber boots. The water in the showers does not drain, a 3 cm puddle forms quickly. The drainage on the pitches is unusable. In heavy rain, a 100m² large lake forms quickly. You can only get through the mud to the street with boots. Wi-Fi is free, but was not available. The power points may be far away. Be sure to take a 50m cable with you. We were here to visit the very worthwhile city of Ghent. As long as the campsite does not improve, Ghent will not see us again. Such a shame! Before the site owner plans further visions like a bio-pool, he should come back to reality and demolish/rebuild the washrooms.

05.08.2023. We are using the place for passing through. Access well signposted. Reception speaking Belgian, German, French, and English, knowledgeable and friendly. There are reservable paved pitches and assigned others. We have landed on a normally designated grass-covered campsite with number 204. This site is shaded by trees and separated by hedges. The power box for all is easily found. It is raining heavily. The ground is softened. For those coming with a camper van, I recommend either all-wheel drive, proper driving experience to avoid getting stuck, or choosing a "reservation required" paved (bark mulch) pitch. The BRAND NEW sanitary building located opposite the old building nearby. In the men's area, there are 2 toilets, 2 individual showers, and a family shower, 2 open washbasins, and a hand washbasin for the toilet washbasin. The right men's toilet was functional, toilet paper was on the floor, the paper roll was not functional. The left toilet was clean, presumably some feces on the wall, and the paper roll was functional. Soap is available at the cold water washbasin. The ladies' toilets were slightly soiled with toilet paper on the floor. In the open hygiene waste bins (round without a lid) were visibly used women’s sanitary pads. There is a free shuttle service to Ghent city center, last return at 00:00. It is certainly a recommendable place for passing through or to see Ghent. Price per night with 2 persons and car + caravan 40.00 Euro.

I can't understand the ratings of some. The site is somewhat morbid but clean, the sanitary facilities are clean and there is also enough paper available. Only the power boxes could be better marked and cleared. The price is reasonable. Shuttle bus for free, about 700m from the site, public transport approximately 400m. We are returning visitors.

The place is beautifully laid out. The beach pool is accessible by foot. However, it is very crowded on nice days. The sanitary facilities are aging and are not really kept clean. Moreover, at least in sanitary building 3, there is only 1 shower per gender plus a shower for people with disabilities. Too few! The parking spaces are also not maintained. Many nettle bushes grow at the edges. Not suitable for small children. The reception area can be quite chaotic, especially when picking up rolls.

We booked one night for €35 with friendly staff. The pitches are large, our power cable was much too short; at the reception, you could get an extension for free. The campsite is overgrown with many trees and bushes. The shuttle bus to the city center was really good. It could be that when the place is fuller, the sanitary facilities might become scarce, but this is just a guess. We would visit the campsite again.
