Topcamp Sjøsanden

We stayed at this very nice campsite in the off-season (September). In high season, it is surely very busy and lively, but at our time it was completely quiet and not crowded at all. There are various price categories for the pitches. We chose a more expensive, paved pitch on the site. Here, there is also night lighting, as opposed to the grass pitches in the background. Great and clean sanitary facilities, with family bathrooms including baby baths! The town is easily reachable on foot and has a cute old town including a shopping center on the outskirts. From the campsite, you can take a small coastal hike or, in nice weather, go swimming directly in the sea. We really enjoyed our last two vacation days here.

Large campsite with many pitches. Two wash houses (cleaned daily) and a building with kitchen and washbasins. Relatively large playground for (younger) children. A football field or similar is still missing. Located right by the beach. Tent pitches without electricity in direct proximity to the beach (green area with trees). Generally quite windy during our stay, unfortunately. A windscreen or similar would be recommended. Noise level is okay, but it only becomes really quiet after 24:00. Small kiosk at the reception, which was actually opened immediately. Night security on site (high season). Self check-in and check-out possible without any issues.

Beautiful place with a top location. Sanitary facilities are very clean and sufficiently available. Staff is very friendly.

A very good campsite for families

Modern clean sanitary house, paved areas with grass in front, large parking area, water at the site. Somewhat long paths to the rinse station or gray water disposal (caravans)

A really great campsite with a sandy beach and a great playground for children. The sanitary facilities are like new and clean. Absolutely recommended.

We were mistakenly assigned a parking space for caravans. To avoid moving, we paid a significant surcharge. The tent space would have been in the woods, not like the beautified picture on the website. Uneven, littered with roots & pine cones. To charge money for this is downright outrageous. Furthermore, the small forest is used by dogs as a toilet. Unacceptable. At most, there is somewhat space for 3 tents. At midnight, RVs arrive & set up. Sleep is impossible before 1 am. Booked online, but check-in is only from 1 pm, as the reception is not staffed before that & there is no key box available. Online booking could be done differently. For us as travelers with a tent, this is the first & last time. The sanitary facilities are very good. Another plus is the small nearby town of Mandal, but this cannot contribute to an objective improvement of the campsite.

Everything very clean and plenty of space per pitch. Directly by the sea with a clean beach and fine sand.
