Super beautiful and great spot at its best!!!

Very well located. Clean sanitary facilities and nice operators. I do not understand how one can even think that this place should be closed (newspaper report from April 2025) and that one wants to terminate the renters. That would be a huge loss for all those who - especially on weekends - want to attend the events at Kalkberg.

Nice operators, clean sanitary facilities. Unfortunately, nothing for children on the site. Prices a bit too high, also because there is nothing else on the campsite.

We were there for three days at the site. The site is super beautiful, very quiet, and one can really relax nicely. The operators are very helpful and remain relaxed even with more visitors. Showers and restrooms are great and always clean. For a visit at Karl May it's wonderful, the lake and the city center are also beautiful. We would love to come back.

We were at the Karl May plays in Bad Segeberg and stopped right at the campground. Since you have to check in at all campgrounds first, we were assigned our pitch for our small caravan and car. We were received very friendly and nice, and we cannot understand the respective reviews at all; no one can enter the campground without prior registration, and if I gain access without registration, then that is an impudence from the people, no wonder they then get angry. I would consider it a breach of the peace and would also report it. At home, no one wants someone to enter their property without permission or perhaps even to look at tents and caravans. This is not allowed at any other campgrounds; you first have to register to enter the site. You can see that much has changed over the years and the last few years at the campground; the owners are investing. There is an electricity connection, the possibility to wash your dishes, and the toilets and showers have been newly renovated. Anyone on the site with a caravan, tent, or camper receives a key to unlock the toilet and shower, so no uninvited and unauthorized persons can enter the privacy of the campers. There is a bread roll service, and you can even get fresh filled rolls; of course, this must be ordered in advance, and that is quite normal too. Those who wish can take a walk on the designated path through the forest to the lake; in good weather, swimming in the lake is even possible. We will definitely come back because peace and relaxation can definitely be found there. It should also be mentioned that no one has the right to enter someone else's property illegally, to linger without permission, and one should also consider accepting the end of the day. And it should not be so tempting to poorly evaluate things when in the wrong or perhaps even committing an offense if they have gained access unfairly.

The operators may be a bit particular, as they require 2G proof via QR code (in August 2022, and vaccination certificates are not sufficient). However, we already knew this from the website of the place and had no problem with it. Cozy spot, you can swim beautifully in the clear lake, the Karl May plays are within walking distance, and for breakfast there's a bread roll service. We are satisfied.

A very beautiful campsite, very quietly located and yet very central. You can quickly reach the city center on foot, but also the Karl May Festival and events at Kalkberg. The operators make a great effort to redesign the site, renovate the facilities, and are very friendly and helpful. The prices are absolutely justified and we can only recommend this place.
