Recreatieoord Kikmolen

Child-friendly camping area right by the bathing lake

There are more deciduous and coniferous trees than pitches at Recreatieoord Kikmolen, as the child-friendly campsite is located right at the eastern end of the Hoge Kempen National Park. It is above all nature that holidaymakers appreciate here. The extensive campsite covers an area of over 30 hectares and has a good 500 pitches for permanent guests as well as around 150 parcelled-out pitches. With an average size of 100 square metres, even longer caravans can be manoeuvred and parked without any problems. All pitches are equipped with electricity. Fresh water can be filled at several service stations and guests can also empty the grey water tank directly on site. If the larder is empty, the campsite's own supermarket provides camping holidaymakers with food, cold drinks, snacks and baked goods. The small snack bar offers refreshments and delicious ice cream. Washing machines and tumble dryers are available in the launderette. Spacious and clean sanitary facilities and baby washrooms are also available on site. Children can enjoy a colourful playground at Recreatieoord Kikmolen, just a few steps away from the swimming lake. The lake itself boasts two water slides and a well-tended, green sunbathing lawn.

Cycle through the countryside or take a trip to Maastricht

After a hearty breakfast, our camping guests love to set off on long hikes through the Hoge Kempen National Park. This extends over 5,700 hectares and, in addition to the partly paved, signposted cycle paths, has a network of mountain bike trails covering around 160 kilometres. Hiking enthusiasts can choose from 51 signposted trails, which together make up a hiking network totalling around 220 km in length. If you fancy a stroll through the city, grab your bike and cycle to Maastricht. The Dutch city is only around 15 kilometres south of the Recreatieoord Kikmolen. A stroll along the Meuse river promenade, a visit to the Natural History Museum and a trip to the Printing Museum are just some of the activities on offer in the city.
