The water is fantastic. The kids had a great time there in the warm weather. However, because there are a lot of year-round and seasonal pitches, many people know each other there. There is a lot of loud music and loud talking until late at night, even though it was supposed to be quiet after 10:00 PM. I once said something to those people, but it wasn't received well. The showers and toilets are clean but outdated. You have to use a key to shower, which has credit loaded onto it. You must do the same to wash dishes. So, you have to pay to do the dishes. The small shop (let's call it a few shelves in an old-fashioned building) also doesn't offer much. They want you to pay in cash; they are not happy when you show up with a debit card. We went home early. Unfortunately, it wasn't our campsite.

Beautiful landscape but not entirely quiet.
Very good8

The campsite itself has aged quite a bit. The sanitary facilities are old but fairly clean. Electricity on site. Friendly permanent campers and friendly staff. You can definitely notice the proximity to the highway, but at night it is okay. We slept well. We were here with two families for Ascension, for just under 200 euros for 2 caravans, a tent, and a total of 9 people and a dog. That’s fine, and we had fun. Aside from the "noise" of the highway, there was only one negative point: no card payments possible. Only cash. That is quite annoying. 3-4 rating stars are appropriate. I chose four.

A Beautiful Spot by the River & Friendly Owner
Superb10

The campsite is small but nice, offering a small bar where you can enjoy a delicious wine with the owner. The site is clean and located right by a river. The ducks happily dance around the visitors' feet. We had a great time and would love to come back. The site is also unbeatable in price. We gladly recommend it.

More info about Camping Kikmolen
Holidaymakers sit comfortably in the shade of the trees, take it easy during the day and enjoy sunbathing on the large sunbathing lawn right by the lake. Camping Kikmolen impresses with its natural design and is an insider tip, especially for permanent campers. Guests are also very welcome at this campsite in the east of Belgium and enjoy the leisure facilities and relaxed atmosphere.
Child-friendly camping area right by the bathing lake
There are more deciduous and coniferous trees than pitches at Camping Kikmolen, as the child-friendly campsite is located right at the eastern end of the Hoge Kempen National Park. It is above all nature that holidaymakers appreciate here. The extensive campsite covers an area of over 30 hectares and has a good 500 pitches for permanent guests as well as around 150 parcelled-out pitches. With an average size of 100 square metres, even longer caravans can be manoeuvred and parked without any problems. All pitches are equipped with electricity. Fresh water can be filled at several service stations and guests can also empty the grey water tank directly on site. If the larder is empty, the campsite's own supermarket provides camping holidaymakers with food, cold drinks, snacks and baked goods. The small snack bar offers refreshments and delicious ice cream. Washing machines and tumble dryers are available in the launderette. Spacious and clean sanitary facilities and baby washrooms are also available on site. Children can enjoy a colourful playground at Camping Kikmolen, just a few steps away from the swimming lake. The lake itself boasts two water slides and a well-tended, green sunbathing lawn.
Cycle through the countryside or take a trip to Maastricht
After a hearty breakfast, our camping guests love to set off on long hikes through the Hoge Kempen National Park. This extends over 5,700 hectares and, in addition to the partly paved, signposted cycle paths, has a network of mountain bike trails covering around 160 kilometres. Hiking enthusiasts can choose from 51 signposted trails, which together make up a hiking network totalling around 220 km in length. If you fancy a stroll through the city, grab your bike and cycle to Maastricht. The Dutch city is only around 15 kilometres south of the Camping Kikmolen. A stroll along the Meuse river promenade, a visit to the Natural History Museum and a trip to the Printing Museum are just some of the activities on offer in the city.
