Quiet campsite in a natural setting

Papillon Country Resort is located in the municipality of Denekamp in Twente. The region borders the Bentheim Forest in Germany. Twente is part of the province of Overijseel between the IJsselmeer, the IJssel, an estuary of the Rhine, and the wooded hills of the Veluwe to the west. The campsite is naturally lively during the day, but the surrounding area is very peaceful. Campers can choose from 235 parcelled pitches with all amenities on level ground. There is a supply of gas bottles, plenty of CEE sockets, dishwashers and washing machines. This excellent campsite is located in a beautiful natural setting and is known for its child-friendliness, modern facilities and sustainability efforts. The latter can be seen, for example, in the environmentally friendly pool, whose water is reused for flushing the toilets. The site also boasts a swimming lake and a fishing pond for anglers. There is a snack bar to satisfy your hunger in between meals and Restaurant De Happerij is a cosy place to sit and look out of the window while you eat. Of course, there is also a small grocery shop and opportunities for sporting activities.

Activities, excursion destinations and sights

For children, the swimming pool with its water playground is a great place to let off steam and make new friends. Modern play equipment, the large bouncy castle and the professional children's entertainment programme leave nothing to be desired. The swimming lake has a cable railway and an iceberg for climbing. For adults, there is a TV room and a theatre room with an outdoor grandstand for entertainment. Tennis, football, volleyball and the boules court also provide variety and sociable fun during your stay. Extensive cycle tours in the surrounding area are popular with holidaymakers. The Quer-durchs-Grüne tour leads to Haaksbergen, the Hof van Twente and along romantic old mills. The 17th century Oldemeule watermill and the Renaissance castle of Twickel with its magnificent parks are well worth a visit.
