The 4-star Ostseecamping Gut Karlsminde campsite is located on the Bay of Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein. Three picturesque lakes, the wide Baltic Sea beach and a natural hinterland with forests and meadows for hiking characterise the charming scenery. 4-star campsite with riding facilities

Ostseecamping Gut Karlsminde, which is open from the end of March to mid-October, is located on the Baltic Sea peninsula of Schwansen between the beach resorts of Eckernförde and Damp. Trees and bushes line the flat meadow area with its 80 pitches for caravans and motorhomes. The size of the individual pitches is extremely generous at around 100 square metres. Many of the pitches offer a romantic view of the Baltic Sea. All pitches have electricity and 80 per cent also have water and waste water connections. Holidaymakers will find comfortable shower facilities in four well-kept sanitary blocks, including spacious family showers in cabins. There is also a barrier-free shower cubicle. Washing machines and tumble dryers as well as Wi-Fi reception throughout the site are further amenities. A well-stocked supermarket has everything you need for your own kitchen and early risers can get crispy fresh bread rolls here. There is also a snack bar where you can satisfy your hunger in between meals. If you want to go out for a fancy meal in the evening, you can enjoy gourmet dishes on the cosy terrace of the beach restaurant. The inexpensive daily specials are also popular. Pony riding, which is offered on the campsite, is a hit with children. Beginners and toddlers are given playful instruction, while experienced riders can go for a ride. Younger guests also enjoy the youth centre, the large playground and supervised play sessions. Sports enthusiasts are drawn to the football pitch, basketball court or beach volleyball.

Beach and culture

Attractions at Ostseecamping Karlsminde naturally include the nearby sea and the 3 km long natural beach. There is a special non-swimmer zone for the little ones. Surfers and kiters will also find good wind conditions here. You can hire bikes from the bike hire service in Damp to the 700-year-old town of Eckernförde, just a few kilometres away. A stroll through its historic centre with its narrow streets leads past beautifully restored fishermen's cottages. Lovers of sacred art will go into raptures over the early baroque altar of St Nicolai's Church. You should definitely try "Kiel sprats", a delicious smoked fish that comes from Eckernförde. Excellent fish for dinner can also be caught in the site's own ponds. In July and August, well-known bands and singers perform at the Eckernförde Beach Festival.
