Ostsee-Camp Kliff Ellernbrook

After more than 20 years, we say goodbye to this beautiful campsite and say farewell. It was a wonderful and unforgettable years.

The location is great. You don't see anything from the operator during vacation. Defective site lighting blinks very brightly all night. Sanitary facilities are okay. You don't really find a shop or anything similar. Rolls are available at the border with the neighboring campsite. Dogs are not allowed. Here, there is really a request to save electricity, even though you pay for it. Strange camping policy. We also find it odd that there are signs stating that there is a 200€ reward if you catch someone damaging the sanitary facilities.

A great family-friendly place. Wonderful location with a dreamy view of the Kiel Fjord. Very quiet and child-friendly. Good sanitary facilities, clean and well-maintained. Washing machines available. Large, parcelled-out pitches, electricity and water at the site. Connection to public transport, good cycle paths in the immediate vicinity. We will come back.

We (my wife and I) arrived at the Ostsee Camp Kliff campsite on June 12, 2022. During check-in, we were given a note stating that >electric hot plates, heaters, and fan heaters are not allowed< (this certificate is available). This regulation is not mentioned anywhere on the website of this campsite. It states in the price list that electricity costs €4 per night (flat rate). Where do I pay €4 per night when I am hardly allowed to use anything electric? That is probably quite a lot for some TV watching. Then there is this poster: 200.00 EURO REWARD For precise information on individuals who intentionally cause property damage, deliberately dirty and vandalize the sanitary facilities. Parents are responsible for their children. Please report to the site management. (Picture available) Klindt We booked for 3 weeks but left after 1 week. Because I am not paying for electricity that I cannot use. For 3 weeks, that would have been €84 in electricity costs, which we would have consumed, compared to other campsites we visited, between €25 and €30. One more thing, we have been camping for about 50 years, but we have never encountered anything like this. Again to this campsite, no way.

In addition to the wonderful view from the cliff and friendly staff, the location is ideal for walks to nearby Laboe and bike tours to Kiel or Schönberg. The island of Fehmarn is also reachable in about an hour by car. A nice place to spend beautiful days with nice people. However, some long-term campers seem a bit arrogant, but that doesn't bother me. The sanitary facilities are clean but have aged. We would love to come back.

The campsite is pleasantly quiet and the children can move around freely. The beach is easily accessible and very shallow, allowing even small children to play well in the water. The sanitary facilities are clean and of adequate number. The staff are all very friendly. There are many great excursions to undertake in the surrounding area. We will come back.

One has the feeling that it's all about profit here. The site operator apparently relies on the great location. Guests will not be absent. Positive: Great, clear site. Great location. Directly by the steep coast with a gently sloping sandy beach. Nice staff. Negative: broken things everywhere. Pipes, insulations, etc... You should have a plan before opening. Create a to-do list with repairs that need to be done before the season starts. And these are not new defects. I have never experienced a site where showers and toilets are in the same room. The only person who cleans here is doing a lot of effort. Against some guests who unfortunately cannot behave and do not know cleanliness, he cannot manage alone. Broken and damaged toilet paper holders, the toilet/shower door couldn't be locked for over a week, worn handles, this should be noticeable. The toilets smell of urine. It was also a very long way from our area to the sanitary facilities. Unfortunately, we are certain that we will choose a different site next time. It's a shame actually. But the site probably doesn't have to worry about guests. It's best to check it out beforehand to see if you want this. But as I said, the site does not deserve 4 stars.
