Here, nothing matches the description at all. Neither at the ADAC nor on the camping site's own page. Everything is very outdated. The camping site does not indicate that only cash payment is possible, nor that the catering no longer exists. The showers are very cramped, and the cleanliness there and in the toilets is not particularly good. The image you get here in the app and on the homepage of the site does not correspond at all to reality. Moreover, you are constantly regulated or annoyed by a jungle of signs and prohibitions. I cannot understand the rating of the site by the ADAC, as well as the tip of the year 2023. Much more could be made of it. Unfortunately, due to the photos on the operator's site, I took a significant detour, unfortunately to total disappointment.

June 2023
We were at the campsite from June 26 to June 29, 2023. During the entire time, the sanitary facilities were not cleaned. One urinal was left running the entire time without being turned off. An overall dirty impression of the whole site. The price/performance ratio also leaves much to be desired. Standard pitch without water and wastewater and only minimal electrical connection. Not recommended.

Unfortunately, the rating does not fit at all. No shop, cleaning staff was not there (the toilet was not cleaned for 6 days), the whole area looks very unkempt. We spoke to the operator, and as a result, the toilet was cleaned and the trash bins were emptied. No Wi-Fi, even though the ADAC guide indicates improved Wi-Fi. The playground has such a level of PATINA that the question is when it will collapse due to rust.

The sanitary building against Hirschhorn was not cleaned daily, had gray walls - in our view did not meet the ADAC rating. The site was very nice with a stream and generous space. There was no shop. At the reception, we did not receive sufficient information about leisure activities. Unfortunately, the information on the website was not up to date. No ship and no train went to Heidelberg.

We stayed at the site for 2 nights in September and chose it based on the rating from the ADAC. Unfortunately, I have seen 2-star sites that were better than this one with 4 stars. The ADAC should conduct a new evaluation. Otherwise, I don't place much value on the user ratings here; however, one must almost agree with them 100%. On the positive side, the receptionist recognized the CampCard afterwards.

We chose this campground based on ADAC’s evaluation and was extremely disappointed! We were met by a rude and unfriendly receptionist and we did not feel welcome at all. The only reason for staying was that we had driven as far as we wanted already. The campground is situated in a beautiful location but does not seem to be maintained at all. The restrooms were dirty and cigarette buds and ashes were lying around. There are very old caravans everywhere, most of which do not seem to have been used for many years. The only sane thing to do is to stay away from this place. How it has achieved a four star rating with ADAC is beyond comprehension. We will not trust the ratings after this - clearly ADAC has not visited the place at all.

That was the positive. Otherwise, the store and the pool were closed. The toilets were cleaned a maximum of once a day. The cleanliness left much to be desired, although the site was only weakly occupied. Staff was hardly present. Green areas and restaurant/beer garden were unkempt. ADAC camp card was rejected with the words "You should have shown this upon arrival, moreover your card is not valid here at all." All in all, the price of 36 € for a camper, 2 people and a dog in the low season is definitely too high. We thought this was due to Corona. However, reviews from up to 4 years ago show that the site operator has no interest in his guests.

The location outside the town between a little-traveled road and forest is ideal for a campsite, as it is very accessible and yet in the middle of nature. Unfortunately, the facility is not particularly well maintained, many permanent pitches looked quite dilapidated and the rental caravans, despite contrary claims, were already very old and somewhat run-down, so our friends were quite disappointed. Another downside was the waste disposal, as the containers were overflowing and bags had piled up in front of them. The mini-golf course and the trampoline for children also looked quite unkempt. The small pool and the playground, on the other hand, were in good condition and well-maintained. We were located directly next to an older washhouse, which could have been cleaned a bit more often during the Corona times, but essentially met the requirements. The operators were very eager to quickly solve minor problems such as a blown fuse at the service column and were very friendly. The food in the restaurant is simple but delicious. All in all, a lot of potential, especially due to its proximity to Heidelberg and other attractions in the Neckar Valley, but the operators need to make more investments in the near future to get the place in shape so that the four ADAC stars are justified again.

Leisure activities such as mini golf and swimming in the outdoor pool as well as a fun entertainment programme in summer delight families at the Odenwald-Camping-Park. The proximity to attractive excursion destinations and the well-developed network of paths for hikers and cyclists are also well received.
The Odenwald-Camping-Park is located in a quiet side valley near the climatic health resort of Hirschhorn. The Ulfenbach stream babbles through the 8-hectare, mainly flat meadow site. All pitches have an electricity connection; those who opt for the comfort category or the premium pitches, which are up to 230 square metres in size, will also find a fresh water and waste water connection as well as cable TV. If you cook for yourself on holiday, you can buy ingredients from the campsite supermarket and use the cooking facilities. Gourmets can indulge themselves in the restaurant, where an open fireplace creates a romantic atmosphere. In fine weather, the beer garden is a popular meeting place. During the warmer months, the outdoor pool, which is around 180 square metres in size, delights water lovers. During the summer holidays, the entertainment is fun. There are several playgrounds to let off steam. Open-air billiards, a basketball hoop and a mini golf course promise entertaining days. If you want to perfect your forehand and backhand, book the tennis court. For culture vultures, a trip to Hirschhorn, less than 2 kilometres from the campsite, is well worthwhile. The medieval Hirschhorn Castle can be seen from afar, perched on a rocky spur. The centre is lined with picturesque half-timbered buildings with shops and restaurants. Sports enthusiasts can hire a bike directly at the campsite and use the region's well-developed network of trails.
