Idyllic Camping Site, Perfect for Families

July 2023

We were at this campsite in mid-August 2023 for two nights with a motorhome. We arrived in the evening around 6 PM without a reservation (the reception was open from 9 AM to 8 PM) and were able to freely choose a spot. The campsite is divided into different areas (including family camping, nature caravans, or deluxe) and one simply looks for free spots in the chosen area. We were in the family camping area, close to the playground, games room, and sanitary block. Some spots also have a wooden terrace. There are several sanitary buildings throughout the site, mostly with toilets for women/men, family bathrooms (one also with children's toilet, children's bathtub, and children's shower) as well as kitchens, which always had several cooking stations (unfortunately no microwave) and tables with chairs. The site is very idyllic, located on a small peninsula away from the highway or larger towns and is surrounded by beautiful nature. You can take various hikes on marked paths, for example through the Norrfällsviken nature reserve with the pebble fields, which also brought a lot of joy to our children. On the site itself, there is also a rabbit hutch (the joint feeding with children only takes place during the main season in July and the first week of August), a somewhat outdated mini-golf course, and a sauna with two hot tubs right by the sea. The sauna is open 24/7 and free, but you need to buy the wood (in the boutique for 90 SEK) and light the fire yourself. In the boutique, you will find a small selection of camping articles and food items, and in the morning there are fresh rolls, but the boutique only opens at 9:30 AM, and the rolls were available for us only from about 10 AM. For lunch, you can also go to the nearby fish restaurant, where you can get freshly caught fish (but also dishes without fish). You can swim at two beaches, but the ground in the water at the large beach consists only of stones, while at the smaller beach next to the fish restaurant there are many algae in the water. Unfortunately, the pool was closed during our stay there, probably because the main season was over. All in all, we really liked this place; we would have preferred to stay one more night, but we had to move on.

Better not in May

April 2023

At the end of May, we drove the long way due to great reviews. We were very disappointed. No one was on site at 2:00 PM, no information (in English) for contact, no information for check-in. The reception was yawningly empty, no food or other goods. We were frustrated and went to the restaurant. There, no dish was available, all crossed out, only a buffet for 345 Swedish crowns. We are very disappointed about the long way back.

Quaint place in a dreamlike setting

June 2021

For those who enjoy camping in the woods, barbecue spots around the corner and by the water, a delicious fish restaurant right across from the site, or exploring the picturesque surroundings, this is the perfect place. The communal houses offer a microwave, stove, cooking area, washing machine, and play opportunities for the children. A really great campsite in beautiful scenery, just the way I like it. Only the reheated rolls in the shop are quite overpriced. A tip for an outing nearby is the village of Böhnahmn, from there (and elsewhere) you can take the ferry to visit the islands. For making bread on a stick by the campfire, I recommend the pizza dough mix in the shop at Mjlällom, it's quick and tasty.

Beautiful Location

April 2019

One of the most beautiful places on the Höga Kusten. You are allowed to enter freely outside of opening hours and choose your spot accordingly. We drove all the way through the forest to the sea. You can pay in the morning (I assume there is an entrance and exit camera). The lady at the reception is very nice and helpful. One of our favorite facilities. The site is pleasantly located, very quiet in the middle of the forest, and beautifully right by the Baltic Sea. We romantically grilled in the evening and enjoyed our breakfast directly on the beach in the morning. A walk along the shore over large colorful stones, which date back to the last Ice Age, to the lighthouse is worth it. Power outlets, fresh water, grey water, and black water, waste disposal, kitchen, comfortable cabin shower, sauna right by the beach, and children's playgrounds are free and accessible at any time. Additional charge of SEK 60 for Wi-Fi (the code is in an envelope next to the reception door).

Well suited for short stays

Beautiful camping in a large forest area, directly by the sea. Pure nature. We saw a fox and the remnants of moose. The sites are nice. Sanitary facilities were not very clean on the first day, partially closed. On the second day, they were more open and clean. Good for short stays.
