Möllstorps Camping

On 30.08.23, we were happy to visit the island of Öland during our 5-week stay in Norway and Sweden. Möllstorps Camping seemed well suited for our explorations because the location is beautiful. However, the price of 405 SEK was a bit much. When I visited the service house (toilet, shower, and kitchen), I would have preferred to go back out again. Everywhere there was dirt, cobwebs, farts from flies, even on the walls and in the window niches. Fortunately, the toilet bowls were not dirty. Later, when I wanted to wash our dishes in the kitchen, there was another shock. Here too, like in the other rooms, everything was dirty, and there was mold everywhere on the floor. These rooms had not been cleaned for a long time. We washed our dishes in the caravan, of course, we only stayed one day. Upon checkout, I complained about what I considered to be a dangerous condition and the price being too high for it. The person at the reception reacted unfriendly and arrogantly, saying that with bad weather, cleaning could also be poor. Öland left a bad impression on us.

This doesn't have to be, we had pre-booked from June 20th to June 26th, at 45 € per day. Showers have to be paid extra, in the restrooms there is no hot water. There is no shade for motorhomes. We had paid and received a full refund. We did not want to stay there. The price for the service was already quite cheeky. Overall, the site made a sad impression. WiFi was good. Maybe such a place works for one night. The children's play equipment was outdated. Sorry, it's not my style to write so negatively. Never again.

I have never found such a clean campsite in Germany. The kitchens are clean, the toilets are impeccably clean and are always being cleaned. The showers have a separate mini changing room in front of the actual shower. The beach is very nice and the on-site assistance is friendly and speaks many languages. It is perfect for children and the playground equipment is in good condition. The pitches have electricity.

We were there in the off-season, but still: the shower rooms and toilets were crawling with spiders. They felt very comfortable there. Furthermore, it should be noted that asylum seekers are accommodated in various bungalows on the campsite, and there is a lively atmosphere at the site even in the low season.
