Only limited suitability for camping (Caravan/Motorhome)

July 2022

The site offers a diverse range of restaurants and entertainment/sports. Additionally, there are a few pools that are somewhat cool and a river where you can swim. Various outdoor activities are available around the campsite. The arrival and departure process is quite nerve-wracking. Narrow alleys, winding roads, narrow bridges - not suitable for large rigs or beginners. Even at the campsite, it is rather 95% bungalow camping, and larger caravans struggle to pass through. (I would advise against it.) Without a mover, a medium caravan is impossible to maneuver. For trash disposal, you need to plan for about 1 km back and forth, depending on your spot. Water and wastewater are not available on-site or nearby; long distances with a watering can. Additionally, chemical toilets involve long walks. At the pool, only tight swimming shorts are allowed, even though there's no beach nearby, which is strange. No soap is available at the sinks in the restroom by the pool. Instead, people go to the basin where dishes are washed to get soap - yuck. The evening program is third rate. The food at the restaurant was good. The service at the reception was very good and friendly. The roll service also works very well. Waffles are premade from a package and placed on a waffle tray to warm up - unacceptable for France. We would recommend the site only for people with small motorhomes or tents who accept that they are surrounded by (partly loud) bungalow guests. It takes about 1 hour to reach the highway.

Super camping site for families and those seeking relaxation

Sanitary facilities always super clean, the facility was swept, leafed and cleaned daily. The shop is super equipped with everything you need for daily use. The pool area is unique and indescribably beautiful. The very best, however, is the cashless payment via a wristband which is loaded with credit.

The location really convinced us. We have never been in this area before. The water park was the highlight for the kids. We would love to come back!

More infos about Yelloh! Village Le Ranc Davaine

At the foot of the foothills of the Massif Central, on the idyllic banks of the River Chassezac, a tributary of the Ardèche, lies the Yelloh! Village Le Ranc Davaine campsite. In the midst of the picturesque natural landscape, campers can enjoy luxurious amenities here - such as the large water park, the on-site wellness area and numerous sports fields. There are also a variety of excursion options along the Ardèche Gorge and in the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park.

4.5-star campsite on the banks of the river

The campsite Yelloh! Village Le Ranc Davaine campsite is located in the French department of Ardèche, around 5 kilometres from the small town of Saint-Alban-Auriolles. Right on the picturesque banks of the Chassezac river, there are 129 pitches for motorhomes and caravans, some of which are shaded by trees, in addition to the numerous rental accommodations. Cassette toilets and waste water tanks can be emptied conveniently on site and power is supplied via 79 CEE sockets. Holidaymakers do not need to leave the campsite to run small errands. The small shop covers the basic needs: fresh baguettes and sweet pastries in the morning, fruit and vegetables from the region and German-language newspapers can be purchased here. Those who don't want to cook for themselves can make use of the on-site restaurant with an exclusive wine list and traditional dishes from the Ardèche - many of them with chestnuts, potatoes and olive oil. A highlight for families is the 2,500 m² water park with paddling pool, various water slides and water playground for children of all ages. On the cooler days of the early and late season, two swimming pools are covered and heated so that water rats can do their laps at any time. While the little ones are still splashing around in the pools, parents can enjoy the spacious spa area with regenerating massages, full-body treatments, oriental hammam, traditional sauna and relaxing whirlpool.

Discovery tours on land or water

Thanks to its direct location on the river, the campsite is the ideal starting point for extensive canoe or kayak tours. Downstream from the Chassezac, water sports enthusiasts can reach the Ardèche, which flows from the Pont dArc, a huge natural stone bridge, through an impressive canyon landscape of limestone cliffs. Especially in summer, the river is rather calm and can therefore be navigated with the whole family without hesitation. Along the Ardèche, around 13 kilometres upstream, one of the most beautiful towns in France is perched on a steep cliff above the river: Balazuc. Its labyrinth of old cobblestone streets leads past simple, beige-coloured stone houses, two medieval churches and finally to the Lehensburg castle, the construction of which began in the 6th century AD.
