Hill Camping Kandern

The availability of a parking space was good! After pre-reserving a parking space and a rental caravan, our daughter got sick! They promised to find a solution, the result was more costs than discussed beforehand, and the car had to park outside despite the available space because they wanted to make more money from the parking space! On the parking space, it wasn’t even possible to set up a front tent! Even though there were enough parking spaces available! Other campers also felt like they were being overcharged!

The location of the place is very nice. Unfortunately, it is totally overpriced for completely outdated infrastructure. The sanitary facilities were better maintained under the previous owner. There is no lighting in the washhouse at night, very dangerous.

It was a great stay, it had everything necessary. The sanitary facilities were very clean. It was a bit unfortunate that the camping manager (or site manager) welcomed us at reception with a burning cigarette and the room was filled with smoke. He was a bit grumpy and terse, but still correct and friendly. With a fully booked site, having two dishwashing places is a bit tight. However, we would go back.

The campsite is located in beautiful scenery, the sanitary facilities are clean, but unfortunately, the operator couple is aggressive. Rules are posted everywhere. There was no brief introduction. Everything costs extra: cooling packs and charging mobile phones, receiving visitors and their bicycles. If you brush your teeth at the wrong sink, you will be reprimanded. Payment is required in cash no later than two days after arrival. During our absence, there was almost a physical altercation with a guest who was expelled from the site.

We were only ripped off here, after we unfortunately missed the cancellation date! At the beginning of the season, March '22, we had to pay for the whole season until October '22, contractually okay. But when you then have to pay all the unused additional costs until October '22, the dog fee until October '22, and also the electricity flat rate until October '22, it's nothing but a scam! As already mentioned: Permanent campers have better opportunities in BW! And they are treated more kindly too!

Despite available spots, we were directed to a field 100m in front of the entrance (with other campers) for one night. The sanitary facilities are outdated and the two owners were very unfriendly. Presumably, one should forgo day guests altogether and only manage permanent campers instead.

The site has everything you need. The owners are friendly and you don’t have to whisper in front of the caravan, even if it’s a bit later. Still, it is a quiet place. Optimal starting point for hiking. The sanitary facilities are a bit older but super clean. You can tell that it gets cleaned several times a day.
