Coimbra Camping & Bungalows

Friendly staff at the reception, a lot of information. Finding a spot is not quite easy, as the parking spaces (terraced area) are not marked or labeled. Sanitary facilities are modern and (mostly) clean, and are regularly cleaned anyway. It's easy to get to the city by bus, with a stop right in front of the campsite. Restaurant is okay, long wait time, friendly service.

Friendly reception with a lot of useful information. Finding a spot is somewhat difficult because the area is laid out in terraces and there is no parking order. At night (weekends) it is often loud (4-lane street within earshot). The sanitary situation during our stay (9/22) was overall clearly below average (not clean, no toilet paper during 2 nights, no soap). Service in the restaurant was unfriendly on 2 occasions, so we avoided it and went to the place below the area (good, inexpensive food with very friendly service). As a starting point for visiting Coimbra, the area is well suited, good connections to the bus and the old town can also be reached almost exclusively via good bike paths. We would only consider returning to the area if there were no other options.

The campsite is arranged in terraces. Nice staff. The supermarket is just a few minutes' walk away. The sanitary facilities are simple but clean. The swimming pool costs an extra €3 per day and looked well-maintained. We didn't bathe ourselves as it was still too cold.

Only stayed one night before visiting Coimbra. No complaints. Good restaurant in the square.
