Camping La Masseria

Bad: WLAN (way too expensive! Also slow), beach (actually no usable beach, rocks, seaweed, nothing nice), reception (grumpy lady). Good: Cleanliness and shuttle to Gallipoli. Nice pool.

Shuttle to Gallipoli and sanitary facilities good - Beach not particularly beautiful - Friendliness less good - (receptionist) - why 4-star camping??

I am currently on site at the place. We initially didn't want to come because there are negative reviews. I can't understand those. Arrival during the lunch break. Immediately, a place guide came who apologized for not speaking good German or English. He had a translator on his phone to help. He drove with a golf cart around the place and showed me all the available spots that met my wishes. Checking in at reception was great and friendly. Everything was explained - including the expensive internet at the site. That's due to an external provider. At the bar, for example, there are a few minutes of free Wi-Fi every 6 hours. The spots themselves are large. The showers and toilets are constantly cleaned and above all: they are heated! The beach is just okay. But this is a rocky coast. In summer, you can definitely snorkel along here for hours. Oh yes - my wife and I are currently sitting in the bar at the site. There is a pizza buffet once a week or a little event. 6 varieties are prepared one after the other in a wood-fired oven and then placed on the table. I personally have a gluten allergy. Here, the owner arranged for a really good gluten-free pizza from the neighboring restaurant - freshly ordered when I was there and then delivered really hot and fresh. Where does that happen? The neighbors are almost all German permanent campers. Occasionally, a local camper van. The permanent campers also said that there is help for every problem here. The free shuttle to the city is also great. However, dogs are not allowed here. Christmas vacation 2023

This campsite is a clear recommendation and one of the better ones in Southern Italy. Okay, the beach isn't the best. But the beach bar is really nice and the prices are very reasonable. Extremely positive are the particularly clean sanitary facilities. I have seen a cleaner at every visit there. The restaurant on the site is unfortunately nothing special. However, a free bus to Gallipoli is offered. Those who find nothing here have only themselves to blame. Very positive are also the hail protection nets over most pitches. We would love to come back again!

So, the positive aspects were the free shuttle bus to Gallipoli, beautiful pool, new showers and restrooms, otherwise not much. At the reception, there was an unsympathetic receptionist, everyone at reception seemed uninterested, not a nice beach at all, in my opinion no beach at all, one must always travel by car, I have been there for the first time and probably the last time at La Masseria.

We were at the campsite in April 2023. We liked it there very much. Very friendly staff. There is a small bar at the campsite. We also found the shuttle service to Gallipoli very nice. Only the small market wasn't so great, but there is a good supermarket nearby that can be easily reached on foot. Overall, one can say that the campsite is one of the better ones in Apulia. We felt very well taken care of there.

At the reception very unfriendly, the restaurant a disaster everything on plates, cold noodles, very poor pizza, salad with rice, WiFi for 2 devices 15 euros, the beach is very dirty, for me the worst campsite in 30 years.

Extremely clean and well-maintained facility. The restrooms are heated and very nice and clean. There is a winery right on site. I would have wished for a bit more personality and friendliness from the staff.
