The location by the dyke is fantastic. The washhouse is very clean but a bit dated. The staff were always friendly and accommodating to us. We will go back.

Dogs allowed maybe yes, but dog-friendly a clear no.

May 2023

We were looking for a dog-friendly campsite, as we had just arrived from Kiel. We wanted to get information at the site, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. My partner went to the reception, and I waited outside with our Havanese lady. Unfortunately, she had to relieve herself and did so on the grass strip by the roadside. Suddenly, a fury in the truest sense of the word came bursting out of the reception and yelled at me that the dog is not allowed to pee. I was so shocked, how can someone be like that, and this place is supposed to be dog-friendly? Maybe the site has dog toilets or you have to quickly carry the dog off the site when it needs to relieve itself. In any case, our concerns were resolved.

Best location, very popular, again and again, a free sunset every day

March 2023

The location and the negative reviews moved us to head to the campsite for Easter 2023. Already at the end of the winter closing time, we reserved a spot on the dike and promptly received a confirmation. Upon arrival, we were informed that we should not drive to the gate to check in, but rather use the stop bays. This was justified because the access road is narrow, and one automatically blocks the exit. Yes, the road to the campsite is steep at the beginning (12%), but there are worse things. After checking in, the pitch is assigned on site. There are reasons for this, too. On the dike, there are about 8m wide pitches available. Unfortunately, you cannot use the entire depth, only the first ~7m due to the ground conditions. Along the pitches on the dike, there is a drivable path with a width of about 3.5m up to the embankment. Why is the instruction done here with such precision and why is speed taken very seriously? Anyone with sense knows the answer. Of course, there can occasionally be campers who have a different opinion. This results in a certain unfriendliness on both sides. The sanitary facilities are clean and regularly maintained. Well, they are nostalgic. So what? Oh yes. As the saying goes: How you call into the woods... We called in friendly and had a nice week at the campsite.

For People with a Good Sense of Humor

July 2022

The unfriendliness of the site manager is almost worth the trip. There is still discipline and order here. The pitch is assigned to you with centimeter precision, even on the large, completely free tent meadow, you may only stand this way and not otherwise. Extremely many signs of dos and don'ts delight the holidaymaker. The sanitary facilities have an antique charm, with toilets still equipped with chains, but they are clean, because they are closed for cleaning from 1-3 PM. The many annual renters act as helpers: If you drive a tad faster than the prescribed 5 km/h, they jump at you with an outstretched hand, showing a 5. The site is not quite as expensive as the surrounding ones, and there are beautiful bike paths leading along the Baltic Sea to the left and right of the site. The humorous observer can have a lot of fun at this site.

Very unfriendly operators

I have rarely experienced a campsite where you are greeted with a triad of prohibitions. Parking is monitored down to the centimeter. The great location and superb view are overshadowed by an absolutely miserable sanitary building. The operators seem to have no joy in their job. One gets the feeling of not being wanted.

Beautiful Location at the Fjord - Check-in Cancelled

September 2018

As a solo traveler, I wanted to spend a few days at the end of the season sailing in Kiel and chose the campsite due to its location. However, I graciously declined to check in, as the behavior and tone at reception were at least inappropriate. Customer orientation, simple friendliness, and appropriate flexibility were unfortunately not present with the poorly motivated lady at the reception desk. On a day that was not exactly "busy" at the end of the season, due to my ignorance of the local conditions, I overlooked the waiting lane, which was poorly marked and illuminated. I found myself somewhat off to the side of the barrier with my trailer - without directly obstructing anyone. Just the end of the season. My fault – my realization and genuine regret, however, were of no use. The receptionist instructed me in a rather uncommitted tone to immediately maneuver my trailer into the waiting lane. Without a guide, 50 -100 m backwards, in the dark, and with cyclists and pedestrians on the access road. Great idea! Thanks to ADAC training and years of trailer experience, it was possible to turn in 3 -4 maneuvers in the so-called "turning area" before the barrier. Longer trailers would hardly have been spared from uncoupling. What a pity - beautiful location at the fjord, but not recommendable due to the reception. Important note on arrival and departure: As mentioned in the ADAC site description, the access road is steep, which I believe is not too much of a problem. Additionally, it should definitely be pointed out that the road is mostly only passable in one lane. It is presumably quite a show when, for example, arriving and departing vehicles meet during peak season - even oncoming cyclists can become a challenge in certain sections.

The place was fine. Sanitary facilities outdated, but clean. Great for cycling. The owner is sometimes a bit "demanding".

went there for the first time last year. The place is not too big, rather small and cozy and clean. It is located directly by the sea and only half an hour's walk from Laboe, but you can also rent bicycles and ride them if you don't want to drive by car! So we like it there and are going back next week for 2 weeks...
