Sandy terrain in the dunes, partly planted with wild roses. Stand area for motorhomes just under 300 m before the entrance of the campsite.
Access to the long, approximately 70 m wide, fine sandy beach across a dune with wooden stairs.
Sand pegs are absolutely necessary.
During the peak season, camping pitches are usually occupied. Considering the cost of trains or ferries, it is highly recommended to reserve a pitch at your chosen campsite in advance.

Completely overwhelmed staff. Poor structure of the facility. Unreliability in booking commitments. The place feels partly like located in a commercial or industrial area. Washhouse okay / way too expensive / unfortunately no supply - rolls etc. / Restaurant closed end of June.

Hello everyone in the group. The campsite in Hörnum (Sylt) is not one of the dog-friendly places. The site is nicely located and the washroom is relatively clean. But because my dog barks from time to time, we were expelled from the site today. My dog is a young mixed breed, mainly a herding dog, who is still in training. He has a good sense for unfriendly people, and when someone approaches our RV, he reacts. Many people walk past us and nothing happens. We are not outside our RV before 10:00 am and not after 8:30 pm, except to take the dog out. During the day, we are out a lot with the dogs. So we are not often on the site. Nevertheless, today the site manager walked decisively towards our RV, of course, the protective instinct of our dog kicked in and he barked, and the site manager threw us out. No reasonable conversation or request for improvement. Just direct notice that we need to leave the site. Thus, the idea of coming back here next year has also died. Never again camping site (RV parking) Hörnum.

The campsite is dying. The staff is unfriendly. Long-term campers are being evicted from the site. Some have been here for decades and we come back often because we have formed many friendships. It is very quiet and idyllic here; those who love nature will find it right. Not a fancy Sylt. Unfortunately, that is no longer desired; many tourists are supposed to come and the actual charm is then lost, as is often the case. Such a pity!! They sell junk here for a lot of money!! Outrageous! Some shower cabins and toilets are closed off despite the high season because they are defective. Windows in the showers have been sealed with Spax screws! I will not come back anymore. It was a great time, such a shame. I would gladly give minus 5 stars but that is not possible. Therefore, 1 star without conviction.

We have been coming as a family to this beautifully located campsite in summer for years. Since we come from NRW, this place is a highlight for our family every year. Over the years, great friendships have developed among the holiday campers and the seasonal campers. We look forward to meeting our acquaintances again each year. However, this year is somehow different. The wooden walkway that connects the sanitary facilities with the campsite has rotted and has been closed for passage just in time for the start of the season. A big detour must be taken. The roads on the campsite are barely passable, as they are just scrap now. The sanitary facilities are old but clean and intact. A camper needs nothing more. The atmosphere this year has been poor among the campers. They want to get rid of the seasonal campers and replace them with holiday campers. Prices have also increased this year. If it turns out that we will not be able to see our friends again next year because they are being kicked off as seasonal campers, we will not come back. For us and our children, it would be very bad because their and our friendships are part of our vacation. Star rating normally 4*, but this year only 1*.

Good location, but too many defects and too little interest from the operator to improve anything here. Everything is very dilapidated (rotten stairs, old sanitary facilities, it rains into the building, it smells musty, access paths are partially damaged, ... etc.). Nothing has been renovated here for years, and nothing has been maintained (except once for the signs for employee parking and prohibition signs which no one adheres to). A kiosk or something where you might buy a newspaper or rolls ... non-existent. Furthermore, one notices dissatisfied employees and guests.

The site is well located behind the dunes. There are strong currents in the sea and no lifeguard. You really have to be careful! The beach is wonderful for hiking. The campsite offers no luxury at all. The internet barely works. You have to hold the shower over your head yourself. 3 minutes cost 50 cents and after that it is freezing cold again. It is a long way to the only shower house. The small lounge area has seen better days as well. Fortunately, there is a very nice independent restaurant.

Very nice place right behind the dunes, the sanitary facilities are good and are cleaned in the late season in the morning. The prices for the late season are surprisingly affordable, please inform yourselves. Sand pegs at this site are not recommended, as they barely penetrate the ground but they do hold. A nice little restaurant "Strend" is a recommendation. Bus connection directly on the main road, we would gladly come again... Corona notices, masks required when entering the sanitary facilities, but this is present in many other campsites as well.
