Campingplatz Hasselkrug

We stayed 4 nights with 2 children and a camper here (we had booked 5). The operator was very friendly, and the site has incredible potential. For long-term campers, the majority of the site is divided into sections and mostly very well maintained. For short-term guests, there is a grassy area on the edge of the site with electricity connections available. There are sufficient water points on the site, but no camper-appropriate grey water disposal as one would typically expect. (An elevated drain is present in the long-term camper area.) According to camper statements, chemical toilets can be disposed of in a hand basin on the floor next to the elevated drain, which is labeled "dirty water." Some aspects seem very old-fashioned, patched together, and/or not up to date. The sanitary facility, for example, is clearly aging. For the women's restroom, there is a hand basin and paper towels in the hallway, but no mirror is provided, which feels a bit careless. (In the shower area, there are sinks with mirrors.) Unfortunately, we were not convinced by the cleanliness, although they are very diligent. A glimmer of hope regarding renovations: solar panels on the roof of the sanitary building. For children, there is a lovely playground in the guest area that looks quite new. Upon arrival, you receive a red slip with the site rules. Overall, it's very focused on the needs of long-term campers. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi did not reach the guest area, but that was not important to us. Restaurants, snack bars, grocery stores, and bakeries are very easily accessible on foot, with a bus stop directly at the site. Overall, it’s a top location with a lot of potential if investments are made (renovate sanitary facilities, set up disposal stations for campers, provide screening for waste containers, add a bit of paint and decor here and there, hire professional companies instead of long-term campers - they create timelessly modern and precise designs).

Depending on the weather conditions, the occupancy density on the site varies. In high summer temperatures, the sanitary facilities are in no case sufficient. Since the camping pitches are not parcelled, distances are often not maintained.

Well maintained, relaxing, everything available: washing machines, dryers, those who want can even have electricity set up in the tent. I am already looking forward to next year.
